ok so i was thinking our maf sucks. this stupid rectangle bull **** dosent cut it for me.

so i was thinking would it be possible to swap in a say ls1 maf sensor? they flow much more fluid and you would be able to run a blow through turbo set up perfectly with this

do you guys think this is possible?

assuming you could get one in the right side, you pin the connector properly and you tune for it i can't see why not. anything is possible just depends on how far you want to take it.

 

yea repinnig as well as tune was a given but i dont know what voltage out maf runs off of.

i have heard some people already swaped the ls4 tb in with almost no change in results? what gives?

 

ls4 tb doesn't make a diffrence on the lsj...it's being a potted and polished ls4 that makes the difference. And I'm sure Vince knows what the voltage is

 

just an FYI, you would be downgrading. You're talking about removing the MAF thats used in the LS7 and putting in the MAF thats used in the LS1?

most GM MAFs (including LSx MAFs and our MAFs) are frequency based, and not voltage based.

neither makes a difference. What makes a difference is when you're making 300whp and the stock TB becomes a restriction. Its a long ways down the list of restrictions though.

 

iirc i thought having a bigger TB when it is not needed only created the air to be inducted at a slower velocity, therefore not making any significant difference.

i could be wrong.

 

troof. Though, with the SC there, most of the piping pre-blower doesnt need to maintain velocity...just enough flow. So it wont hurt..but the stocker flows well enough that it wont help either

 

well yeah that's true as well. i just figured that since this was the L61 forum i would throw some input about big ass TB's on n/a cars.

but i have also heard that the LS4 TB doesn't make that much more power on the LSJ's.
