And 4t65? does it have 3 gears like the GM racing one does?
All three transmissions were built to race spec by GM racing/GM Powertrain/Hydramatic. All of them should hold BIG horsepower once everything is put together and applied to the track.

Which are you gonna use in your build?

I would hate to only have 3 gears...
Did they do the same thing to the 4t45es?

it's a drag car, 3 gears is all you need.
plus they are geared long, so would still give you the mph you need to cruise the street without retarded rpm. we were testing an auto on an sstc and it wasn't actually that bad

I'm not in Tampa anymore lol. Moved back in March to San Fran area but I would have been thankful for the help!

As for which one will go into the car first, it'll be the 4T65...the strongest of all 3. I'd rather not spend all this money and then have it crap out a transmission on the first pass .

Yeah but for my use it would also be a daily driver and a drag car It was tested on a SS/TC? custom plate made for that?

I'm curious to see how well it holds up for you, I'm hoping it does work! That's probably the route I'm going to go if I can ever get ZZP to answer me... Their customer service is like pulling teeth sometimes...

Yes, I'm bringing this back from dead...but a lot of things have changed recently. I'm sure a lot of you have lost faith in this project, for that I'm sorry but life happens sometimes.

I'm back in Tampa for 1...and some big progress has happened as of late. The issues with the cage will be addressed as another welder will be completing the job on Saturday. Sunday, I'll be painting the roll cage but I need some help deciding a color...any input?

The weekend after that, the interior will be complete...minus electrical and shifter. Also planned is welding of the towers for the suspension / ground control system.

Finally, in about 3 1/2 weeks....the engine and transmission are going in!

Plenty of photos to come soon...

Thank you, glad to be back honestly. Still need input for colors guys.... I've been fortunate to have some awesome people interested in getting this car running. Some weekend racers, some professional dudes who are currently running Pro Fwd Cobalts!

I'm crossing my fingers that I can finally close this chapter of my life...so far it's looking promising!

As in parts?

Here's some progress work from today, just testing the waters since I've never sanded down a cage before. Tomorrow the rest of the cage will be done with sanding. Welding on Saturday like said before and painting will begin that day as well.

Tomorrow there will be an update with the fully sanded cage...stay tuned!

Yes sir, I want to keep it a blank canvas look. Plus the carbon fiber hood and truck will look sick with it!

New Update 7/15/13:

If you've seen this thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/drag...4/#post7093335

You already know that the car is now in the hands of NDR Team Florida. Not going into too many details right now but some neat stuff is going on .

Here's some photos from the relocation...

Even my g/f was happy to see the ProFWD cars!

If you're in the Orlando area, NDR Team Florida will be at Orlando Speedworld Dragway July 26-27th. Come on out and check out some serious Ecotec power.

I know this thread has been one of the worst cases of a build thread to date...but it's still alive...soon to be kicking, some ass that is!

A great build none the less though. I'm interested in to what's going to be done down there. I've never heard of that place honestly. I always thought the GM guys ran off their own "teams"/business.
