royal purple....3-5k miles, took it out, smelled like ASS and was completley black...no thanks.

go ahead and say you felt a difference blah blah it's all in your head just trying to justify the fact that you wasted money on something that could be done for cheaper.
Thats means royal purple was doing its job and cleaning all the **** outa ur motor. If the mobil 1 oil was still fairly clean after 10k miles then it wasnt doing a very good job at cleaning. I changed my oil a at 5k with mobil 1 and it came out black

if it wasn't doing it's job i'd have a dirty engine and problems, which i don't...

Castrol Edge is by far the best oil on the market right now. It meets standards for GM that Mobil 1 and RP don't even meet.

It surpasses Mobil 1, RP, and Vavoline by a long shot.

I would never run another oil in my car, ever.

It's exactly 5 quarts.

weve used everything under the sun in our raceing engine. all performed pretty much exactly the same. Theres your proof that they all stand up just fine to EXTREME driving conditions and will work equally as well.

i've run nothing but royal purple in my cobalt never had a problem change it every 8k new filter every 4k works for me. i use to put mobile 1 in my old car changed it every 5-6k never had a problem with it either. anything you use that has been stated in this thread will work fine just a personal prefrence to be honest.

royal purple is purple oil lol.
I call B.S. on that (purple color), the purple color goes away very quickly, within a few miles of driving or less.

Come on, it's OIL, the lifeblood of your car.. how many times do you change your oil a year? 4-6 times? So your spending $2-$3 or more a litre on oil, it's not that much more money.

and royal purple was the best.
i noticed a difference when i switched to it, and if this guy switched he did the smartest thing!
I showed that test to a MObil user I know too.

I have to disagree with you on that. i changed my oil about 200miles ago and it still had a purple tint. although it looked nothing like when you put it in the car i could still see a purple tint to it. and that oil had 8k on it.

lol I forgot that Jess went on my name last night here at my place and said that to you Phil

But I always used Mobil 1 full synthetic. But last time I went to do an oil change EVERYWHERE was sold out of the 5w-30 full synthetic. I checked like 3 Wal-Marts, 2 Autozones and a Target....no one had it. So my last oil change I wound up using Quaker State Q Horsepower. A bit more expensive than the Mobil 1. Kinda like a notch between the Mobil 1 and Royal Purple i'd say. But it did the trick.

There's plenty of independent wear tests using the same technique that show Rp at the top and Mobil doing quite poorly actually...I never noticed any fuel economy benefits.
