Well, the way I was doing my oil return line was not going to cut it. I had to get longer cables so that it dropped straight down to the tap on the oil pan, not making a big bend. It was forcing oil to have to move almost uphill, which caused it to back up.

I fixed that, quick trip to a hardware store and some stainless toilet cables did the charm perfectly, and for like $10. I know it sounds sketchy, but it's actually really efficient now. I have multiple lines for the return.

Anyways, then, after that was all good, oil started coming out of the flanges. So, I took a trip to the hardware store again and got some studs and nuts and just got them both super tight. No more leaks.

Unfortunately, my battery died on me again, and I don't feel like jumping it. Tomorrow I should be fully running, probably doing some test runs while I get it fine tuned. Need to hook up my wideband. I'll see about getting a video camera for you guys, stay tuned!

Bumps!!! what's going on with this, anything?

Why do these threads always seem to fizzle out right at the end? Stuff starts going wrong and people give up. I know you won't do that sentry, but i'm tired of following these threads only to have them FAIL!!!! I'm not making a thread until my **** is up and running, PROPERLY! I don't want to jinx the build, lol.... Then if i fail, noone will know, lol....

Hey hey hey who said I've failed?

I don't care if the motor takes a ****, I'll rebuild it and spend a bunch of money I don't have. I mean, for me I'm not going back, even if it means getting a spare car for a while. Just running into a couple hiccups right now, learning as I go.

I agree, I shouldn't have made this until it was running. What was supposed to be done in 4 days is taking forever it seems. Sorry to keep you guys waiting and anticipating.....but I mean you know what a boosted 2.2 can do. Several others on here have em, just get videos from them, lol.

It'll be done when it's done, having some issues with the oil return lines if you want to know. I'm probably going to have to route them into the block itself, the way I have it going right now is making oil back up into the turbo, which is causing the smoke obviously. I'm literally a tap away from being on the road, I just have a lot on my plate right now, personal stuff that I have to do that's sucking my time to work on it. I have literally had maybe 10 mins today to jack around with it.

How about this, no one post on this until I do. When you see me post something you'll know it's done. If it makes you guys feel any better, I'm getting a friend to help me tap it this week sometime. Just gotta chill and be patient.

I took it out for some runs tonight up my street, got the oil leak fixed. No more smoke, I got some good runs in, pulled like a ****. Getting up the street, made another pass back and boost gauge spikes to about 23 psi and I hear a bang. car instantly died and I rolled down the street. I'm going to pull the head tomorrow morning and see what broke. looks like engine build is coming sooner than expected.

i actually know that feeling.....

the loud bang.......the reduced power warning.....and then nothing else but the sound of rubber gripping the road and the car slows to a crawl.
