Nobody has ever doubted or blamed vince for this, he's great for the 2.2 guys. Sometimes Gm cant even figure out why they have weird programming issues, i swear i have seen bullitens that say, there has been a "programming anomaly" and our engineers are working to fix the prolem, lol.... Go Vince, get this thing going!

No, but I know that I can if necessary. I like having the new fuel rail, makes under the hood look much more interesting. Definitely a conversation starter, lol. Yep, elecs right, this is truly the first time anyone has ever gotten a tune for the intake manifold, also probably the first for the fuel rail swap. Vince has got a lot on his plate with my car, so there's bound to be some kinks that need to be worked out. He'll get it running.

prime example of gm oddities... cobalts use 2 clutch sensors logically.. so you press one sensor it triggers it in the ECM..

in the ion.. **** if anyone knows how the clutch sensors are triggered lol

Well, I just got off the phone with Vince. I feel embarrassed to say this, but it looks like I soldered my injectors harness backwards. :P That, and I think I've fouled the spark plugs by running it untuned. A very noobish turn of events on my part. I know the tune is good, because it's the same base tune that several other boosted 2.2's on here are running. Tomorrow when I get my car back to the house, we will do some investigating, and I'll get that wiring harness straightened out. I see no reason why it won't start then.

Here's a wiring diagram for a 2005 cobalt 2.2. Hopefully not no one makes the same mistake as I did.

BTW, that first injector is TN, which I assume means tan.

Nope, I just fouled all the plugs and the wiring is backwards. Me and Vince were talking about the injectors wire colors, and when he said that green was #2, I instantly knew I messed up big time. If those aren't exact it throws off the timing completely. You get fuel at all the wrong times.

Well, I have an 07. I posted the schematic for an 05, and they are exactly as you said.

Unless they are in reverse order, all my colors are the same as the 05.

Yep, looks like they didn't change, because that's what the 05 is too. I can't wait to get home and try it. I should just be able to flip the harness around and it should work. Gotta get some spark plugs, as mine are all fouled up I'm sure. Cross your fingers.

I just started working on the car, took out the gas drenched plugs and replaced those. Also, I found out that my injector harness was on backwards. It was literally flipped around, oh well. I'm loading the new tune now, and I'll know if it starts in a second.

But, now when I turn the ignition to the on position, I hear this loud *clank* noise. I can turn it off, and clak, then on, clak! It's pretty loud, way louder than I've ever heard it. I think it may be the fuel pump activating, but damn is it supposed to be that loud? Could I have messed up the fuel pump?

Maybe I'm just paranoid. When I loaded the tune, it was a little off because he was adjusting it for when I had the injector harness swapped. So, I loaded the stock tune and the beast runs! I can actually throttle it to keep it running and everything, no dying!

I'm really excited, this is the first time I've kept it running since I disasembled. Flipping the harness over is what was wrong. I datalogged a good minute of it running on the stock tune, now Vince just has to take that and adjust his tune to that, and tune for the 42s and we'll have a running car!!!!

I had to quit running the car because in the garage it got really smokey, and yes I know about exhaust fumes, I was just too ******* excited that my car runs to give a damn. I'll smell that **** all day, haha.

As soon as we get the tune stabilized, I'll get a vid. Right now I've got a major exhaust leak that sounds horrible, I should be getting the correct sized studs and nuts tomorrow to fix that. I did hear the turbo spool for the first time today. Very very proud of that.

I can't get too crazy with the revving though, I once pushed it over 3k and heard it whistle at me, and I was like, oh ****! I better stop jacking with it before it goes boom. Stock tune FTL.

Vince just responded, at 12:49 AM. That guy is always up, he's going to review the logs tomorrow morning!
