Stage 3 Comp Cams....Anyone done it???

Ok so Im at the point where I pretty much have everything for my 06 L61 (look at mod list) plus Im getting the TB ported, and Im getting poly CABS and a pacesetter header for christmas gotta love an awesome gf then this summer Ill be getting a custom made downpipe and exhaust. So now Ive hit the wall theres nothing left! Other than flywheel & clutch and suspension mods.

Ok so now that thats out of the way theres onlyone thing left and thats cams so I was going to do stg 3 comp cams. Now before anyone asks I have all the tools available and help needed for this install thanks to having a father whos been a mechanic for 20+ yrs and having just about every tool imaginable under the sun So has anybody done a stage 3 intall successfully with no poblems? If so I want to hear about it. Also does anyody know what kind of gains I could possibly expect? Any information would be helpful. Please no flaming I understand it wouldve been cheaper to go turbo but I dont think I ve ever heard of completely bolted tuned and cammed L61 with full mounts so to me this would be pretty impressive. Thanks for any and all help

i wouldn't get the cams until you have an exhaust system. it would just sit in your possession doing nothing until you could get the exhaust.

just my .02, not a bash.

i dont think stage 3 cams would work on a daily driver...i think u would need to upgrade more stuff...not like stage 1 or 2 which you can just install and tune...i think u need more for stage 3

Have them on my 2.2L cavalier ecotec. Make SURE you get the Ferrea valve train setup, it is a MUST.

Gains depends on other mods and tune...

I like them a lot, pull hard to about 8500 RPM

PM us if interested in getting a set

Don't you also need solid lifters for this cam grind?

If you do this, prepare to have very little low end torque. It would definately take some getting used to for a DD.

It is suggested but not needed, Contact Ray Bates, he makes them, and I have them from him

I have thought about that that is why I have the lighter pullies and Im getting my throttle body ported after the install I would also buy an approiate clutch and a lighweight flywheel so hopefully my accelaration will compensate a little so it wont be horrible.....hell I might even go as far as to convert my CAI into short ram if its that bad j/k................................................. ............but seriously

Looking at the mods in his sig, he's not forced induction, the head won't be a bottleneck in his build.
