how much boost?
I know the auto tranny in the 2.4 cobalt can handle over 300. Not sure about the 2.2, a guy on clubg5.net is over 220 whp with no problems at all so that should give you a guide to go by.
Max is 14.7 since we have a 1 bar map sensor. The auto trannys are pretty robust, you have to do a considerable amount of work before you make the clutch packs start to slip. Also psi is not directly related to power. You need to look at air flow (total cfm's). Here's a very crude and basic example. Turbo a flows 500cfm, and turbo b flows 1000cfm. In theory.... turbo b would produce the same power as turbo a with half the psi. Now I know these number and figures are not perfect, accurate or correct. But it gives you the general concept.
I wouldnt go passed 260 HP to the wheels on auto tranny. you should run a 2.8" pully on SC good. think that is 16 psi or so. there is one guy that kept running 2.7 and kept blowing his tranny then GM took his warrenty lol idk how he got them replaced in the first place unless he took the SC kit off.
If i SC, i plan on going 2.9 pulley to play it safe. either 2.9 or 3.0
turbo, idk stage 1 zzp kit should be plenty.

After some research, I agree with dragonkingg5. However I wouldn't go past 240 at the wheels. Our connecting rods are only good up to 250hp, and I believe they're refering to crank hp. The motor internals will experience catastrophic failure before the auto tranny will.
