The "BONG" has absolutely NO impact on the K&N SRI which will be just as loud with it (the "BONG") left in place. In fact the K&N installation instructions do NOT even mention the stock CAI "Silencer".

i wanna take mine out so bad! is doing it from under the car easier? i've never jacked a car before and not sure how to do that...

yeah, it has to come out through the bottom, you need to take out the fender liner

i did mine while my car was up in the air already, it does make it easier, but it can be done with just the wheel turned.

basically, clips and a few #2 phillips head screws. actually, getting it back in is a lot harder than getting it all out.

i looked under it yesterday and it seems tight to take it out without lifting that car....im gonna wait till i get my header installed and do that while the car is in the air :P
