Lightbulb Honest Opinions

Ok. I have the 2006 Silver SS sedan. Im so confused as to what to do.

Option #1. End the lease early, pay the $4500 in depreciation and start another lease on an SS/SC which would be an extra $120/month.

Option #2. Keep my car, and go for performance. Intake, ECU tune ect..

Option #3. Keep my car, and put money into audio. Kicker compVR subs, changing other speakers ect..

Option #4. Keep my car, go for looks(again though its a sedan). Already have tint on the rear(any level of front tint passenger/driver is illegal here ) Get the 18'' wheels or, maybe look into a bodykit.

Now what do you honestly think of the SS sedan. Does it look ugly or does it actually look sporty. Also being an automatic with or without adding intake/ECU how many other cars out there are going to beat me. I originally got the sedan because of everyone telling me how cheap it was on insurance but then i found out After that it will be a $12/month difference in insurance for the same coverage between my SS 4door going to the SS/SC.
So let me know what YOU would do just so i have some ideas. I have only another 2 weeks to decide if to trade it in for the SS/SC but is it worth it? Should I just add money into this car? wether or not i decide to buy it out is n/a so dont worry bout that. I like my car, it seems fast, but when summer hits and every other car on the road kicks my ass im gonna be really pissed off!! So honest answers please just give me your own opinions

Option 1, but wait for a used car lot or for your dealer to offer a special on lease takeovers/buy backs, so you don't get boned. Or transfer the lease privately.

Go with #2.

And wait a few more years. By then the market will be full of option for all the different levels ( 2.0, 2.4, 2.2L engines).. Thats my plan, at the end or near the end of my lease I will either move up to the SS/SC or stay with the 2.4 and mod away with what ever I decide.

Just my $.02

SharpSS (Yellow 2.0 S/C)

The SS just didn't do it for me after I saw the full blown SC. Try to get a better deal though. I was able to get a great deal, all things considered on my Yellow Beast, but I don't want people to tell you that SS w/o the wing/recario seats/supercharger looks near as good.
You sound like me. I saw the SC & had to have it. I put some stock in living for now. Dont go under for it, but get what you really want as long as you can sacrifice somewhere else.

Many MODS to come if the darn weather ever breaks here in northern Illinois!!!!!!!!!!

Why would you say that? I mean i love the crap out of my car. But in all honesty if i could have found an s/c when i bought my car i would have gotten that one.

And as far as zoomyjs's question being that it is an lease I wouldnt do anything to it because unless your gonna keep it it's gonna come right back to bite you in the @$$ when you give it back to the dealer unless you keep all the stuff and you spend the time to make your car stock again. And i honestly like the ss sedan's i dont like the base 4 doors all that much but there's an huge differnce appearnce wise between the ss and base. If it were me and i had an car for lease i would leave it stock except maybe an intake and maybe wheels ( which you can change back to stock in no time when you give the car back)
Just my two pennies

Keep the Sedan.... Everybody has/wants the coupes, be unique. Besides the sedans are perfect sleepers. I would opt for option #2

I say Option 2,3, and 4. If you plan on modding it you might as well do it right and do everything, at least thats what I plan on doing to mine.

Wait until your lease is up and buy a new one. You will have time to think about what u want (new cars that arent out yet that will probably rock the cobalt) unless you want to work a little harder and make some extra cash and get rid of it and buy the SC. All I can say is that its FUN AS HELL TO DRIVE STOCK!

Option 2 is the best way to go. With option 1 you are going to go too much upside down and it will cost a lot more in the long run.

Not if he is patient, waits and does what I suggested.

Honestly, you have to pick your battles too. If you are jumping on every WRX or 350Z that comes along you are in for a long summer. However, like any good gun fighter you don't take on Clint Eastwood you choose your targets. Scion TCs, Honda Civic Sis, GSRs, stock RSXs, Older civics, GTis, Jettas, Celicas, Tiburons etc... etc are fair game. Jumpin these cars will make for an easier summer than some of the heavy hitters.

Thanks very much for all the input. Greatly appreciate it. So most people say #2 is the best way to go, i will probably follow that path but more so to #3. Going to drop a grand into the best subs/speakers i can get because when the lease is up i can always take those out and put them to use in my next new car! The only thing that bothers me about this current car is the grey boring interior. Im wondering if i can paint it black. But i have grey leather seats, however i can get black cloth covers, but then i would lose the fact i have leather seats... im still looking at what i can do with it. off hand though, are there auto-detailors that will paint the inside of your car black, basically everything that is plastic, doors/glovebox/underpanels ect... and approx how much would it be.

Let me get this straight. Your leasing the car and you want to add stuff to it that I am sure will not be approved by the dealer or your standard GM lease agreement or you want to rid yourself of a great "as is" SS Sedan and go for an SS/SC and take a **** kickin to get out of the lease. Ok I think I got it now.

I'm afraid you don't have an option listed for what I would select, but if you read carefully what I wrote above I think you will get my message.

has a very good point pluss option 1 might suck because once forced induction hits our cars we will beable to take out clint eastwood :P so #2 100%

Keep your car and do not throw away 4K.

Next time check insurance rates.

Don't mod a leased car very much. Unless you are 100% sure you will keep it when the lease is up. Or you can always buy it out at the end and then sell it.

I like the SS 4 doors. Maybe you can come out to Bud Park this year. I want to come up from Calgary sometime.

Well the thing is, if i go for option 1 then i wont have to worry about modding this car. but, if i do keep this car which is probably what im going to do, i'll probably just upgrade the audio and/or anything else i can take out once the lease is over. Or, if i do decide to change the car in dramatic ways that would alter the lease agreement. then at the end i will just buy it out and either keep it as a second car or sell it.
