Well I did have it running right. I swapped pulley's, then put a header on a couple of nights ago, so I'm back to the drawing board.
I posted over at HPT RED, I dunno if you have any input or not there?

HHR on baby moons? awesome. my pops has them on his pt cruiser. you've gotta be a baby boomer.
p.s. that front end is very well done. its got a nice classic look to it.(you custom fab that? or is it a kit one could buy?) i would look into some lowering springs soon, if it was me.. then the appearance would be complete.

Nope, I was just going for a 49 chevy look. I have a set of 17 inch wheels with P-Zeros for it too, these are my everyday burners though.

No, no map. I have the tMap ready to go, but I haven't had time to bring it down to my tuner to do it up. I don't want to mess with it, and for the time being it is running OK.

How does that GMPP intercooler work? I have the Cobra HE...but the intercooler?

It's just the upgrade for the intercooler (manifold end plate with additional port, and two flipped catridges).

I actually have the thick aluminum double pass heat exchanger, and with the combination of the intercooler upgrade, and heat exchanger, and larger surge tank I see very little IAT climb during boost.

i wonder if your low boost is related to the surge tank. the only other thing that i could imagine that is holding you down is the e-85 conversion, but i dont see why. what are your dyno numbers like?

i have the larger surge tank as well. you can bypass the bypass valve, and see if that changes your number.

I thought about that, but I've yet to try it to see. I think part of the low boost is just the 20% larger displacement of the engine and the fact that the blower is only so much CFM etc.

I may be on the dyno next week depending on how this E-85 thing pans out. We'll find out then.

he has a 2.4 silly so he was saying low boost in relative to him using a much bigger pulley

Yeah forgot about the displacement factor. Have you dried porting the blower to see if it helps the airflow? I doubt it will help much if any at low rpms. Depending on how restrictive the blower is, there may be a gain to be had at higher rpms due to decreased resistance. Its prolly not as much as hoped though. With that E-85, you could easily go higher in boost without pistons, so long as the head bolts handle it. E-85 is 103 octane if i remember correctly. Which is why i want to go stage 3 turbo with the pistons... i may need internals and some other strengthing though from the increased power.

Yes! and also by putting acetone in your gas tank (10% mix) works wonders!!!!

Please dont do either, I was being sarcastic. There is no way a PC fan can put out enough CFM's with out atleast a 1/2 hp electric motor.

so it basically can work but our electrical systems cannot support the power it would take to spin the fan at a high enough rate to create a gain.

if you put in a larger alternator you could... 1hp is equal to 700 someodd watts of power. most efficent motors are around 80%. that is 840watts for the motor. Then when you pull it down to amps @ 13VDC that means the electric turbo will pull 65 amps/hour of power. Still sound appealing?
