I am gonna set the goal at mid 15's, and then hope i prove myself wrong. my car won't be here until the end of the week, so i have to go through break in and all before i get the chance to find out any numbers, but i'll get some up. until then i'll be looking at everyone else's numbers....

I was just asking a question. Dont get offended because the only cool car you have is a Cavalier. My cobalt is my daily gas saver not a car I see running scarry fast at the drags.
What do you do for a living automotive wizard? Because I really doubt you know more than me about cars.

My Cobalt with an Auto tranny and 2.2L ran a 16.1 on my friends G-Tech at 88. I know they aren't all that accurate but it gives you an idea. Also I had an Alero with a 2.4L 5 speed and I ran a 15.73 at 89.6. That was bone stock. A lot of it depends on Driver.

Whats your problem bud ? All he said was the reason they look like the GTO a bit was because of the rear window and you get mad and make it a pissing contest. Who cares that your coablt is your daily driver since thats what it is used for by most people. Grow up Chuck and get off your high hourse. sorry now back on topic

svt focus has VVT, 170hp, 6 speed. weighs over 100 lbs less, and runs mid-high 15's. 2.4 will be the same, guaranteed

Yeah but the focus also only had 130 lb/tq. the 2.4 has what 30-40 more. I think it will be a bit quicker. Like the rest of guessed low-mid 15's.

MikeSS------how many miles have you put on it so far? I'm intrested how the car feels after break-in

i drove a 2.4 SS 5 speed at the dealership the other day and there a good enough engine. I mean i havn't got to drive a SS/SC yet, but the 2.4 has some pepiness and is a nice smooth engine. I would love to see a supercharger availible for these in the near future! it could definitely be a mid to low 13 second car!

15.4@91MPH all day. That is the best it will do in my opinion.

The engine has changed so much since I bought it. It is as 2500KM right now and should be at about 3000 when I run it this weekend.

I'll just keep my mouth shut about times till I run it.

Around 1400 miles i noticed that mine started to feel peppier. It is surprisingly quick after 4k rpms. I just wish it had a bit more in it before that. I want to take mine to the track. But I am afraid something beyond my control will happen, like a tire blowing out, or a deer running onto the track. That would be just my luck and then the insurance will not cover it and I will be out a car. I know I sound like a sissy. But I have to be realistic. Also do you have to bring a helmet, or do they let you borrow one at most tracks? Thanks.

Actually, it has 145 tq. But, 80% of that torque comes at a low 2200rpm. The 2.4 only has 18 lbs more tq. Nothing to write home about. Like I said..mid-high 15's guaranteed.

No helmets are required to run at a track if it is a car slower then 13.999.

And we know all about the focus and its tq.

Ehh i keep thinking the SS's have 175 tq like they first said. o well i guess we'll have to wait until people hit the tracks. Anybody seen any tq figures for the 2.4? I'll will say that i know the solstice w/ the 2.4 i think hit 15.8 in a recent mag test. Very dissapointed.

But the focus was a 2.0....
I still think the 2.4 will get like a 15.3 or so.

Engine size doesn't matter when the two cars are putting out almost identical numbers stock. the focus is a good bit lighter also.

I guess that means the 2.4 can easily be made faster than an Evo also? (2.0L engine)

A lot fo Solstice owners are saying that too. After the first 1000 miles the engine defintely seems to become more lively.
