B - This SLR is junk.. and the actual product probably looks much more similar to the eBay link someone listed that the thing on their site. Here are some tell-tales -
1) All of the products cost the same, regarldess of the application. There's no sensible reason why a performance chip for a 1990 Chevy Astro should 'cost the same' as one for a 2008 BMW M5. Think about how wildly different those cars are in every respect.

2) Further on the above point, but they make no difference in most of the options between different years and models. Example - they have ONE chip available that supposedly works on ALL 1990-2008 Mustangs. No one should have to tell you how ridiculously different a 1990 Mustang LX is from a 2008 Shelby GT500. For our application, they have one chip for all Cobalts, even though we know that each of the Cobalt models has a different ECM.

3) The claims are outrageous. 50 hp/tq for $70? Guess I should send my turbo back then. If you have no concept of 50hp, you need to go borrow a buddy's SS Supercharged. Further, if there was actually a part that only cost $70 and improved the vehicle buy even 10 HP and 1 mpg, don't you think the manufacturers would keep this company permanently out of stock? With mpg as such a big selling point - don't you think GM'd love to have something they could instantly say "Hey, all Cobalts now get 35 mpg"?
Actually "The Jet Chip" is nothing like a canned tune Its a modual It in no way reprograms your ecu It alters the transmitted and received signals Kinda like a live TV sensor it takes the original signal Takes all the F bombs out and replaces them with Beeps.

This so-called Chip is a resistor that tricks the IAT sensor into thinking incoming air is cooler than it really is. It's a hokey concept at best. I'm not comfortable with it.

Hey guys,

I just installed this SLR performance chip on monday on my 07 2.2lt cobalt... So far this is what its done...

First it threw on my check engine light, but that's expected and even said it would probably happen in the instructions.

Second it kicked the transmission into "safe mode" raising its pressure causing it to shift hard. This doesnt hurt your vehicle, but at times it can be irritating. Now they said after 7-14 days your computer is suppose to adjust to the new settings, this is almost seeming true since it only starts to shift hard when you get on it.

Now for the benefits that I've seen... You most definitely don't get a extra 50 horse power.. That was expected of course, however... When I tested it on the quarter I got a extra five mph, and it barked the tires when it jumped into second gear. I also noticed that when it does switch gears you can feel it pulling you forward quite a bit more. Also it didn't burn near as much gas as it normally would when running it hard like that.

Out come.. Well a extra 5mph is kinda nice... the little extra mileage is cool to, but its not good enough for the pressure in the trani. So after 14 days if that's doesn't stop I'm going to send it back and get my guaranteed 100% refund. I hope this has been helpful for you guys

I think the best part about that SLRperformance chip is that it doesnt specify what cobalt trim, lol. I dont think that chip will work with the S/C and T/C the same way as the N/A. it is a scam.

Yep, $0.05 resistor in a $0.50 box, couple of pieces of wire and 2 minutes to assemble.
Great profit margin on this pos

If you click on a few different makes / models in their list, they claim the same gains for EVERYTHING. 1.6 litre Toyota 4 banger - +50hp / +50 lb/ft, 5.0 litre BMW v10 - +50hp / +50lb/ft. Can't even be bothered to come up with different part numbers or pages?

You buy this and you have been had, good luck with getting your money back too. These guys will fold up their internet tent and disappear, only to reappear 2 weeks later under another name, selling the same piece of crap with a new label.

You are getting better trap speeds because your tranny is not slipping as much due to the increased line pressures. Did your et drop as well?

And I don't know how you checked your mileage - you need to drive the car the same way as you always do, keep track of the mileage for a few tanks (with and without the "chip" installed) before you can make any judgement on the mileage.

Good luck with getting your money back. Even if they do refund you (unlikely) you paid for shipping to you, and you will pay shipping back. This will be non refundable.

The chip/module whatever you want to call it, actually tie into your IAT/MAS (they're tied together) plug located on your air intake.. Its the two far wires, the yellow and tan.
