I've heard both these issues have been corrected with the new design.
how is the shorty working out for you..?

This only applies to me so don't make your decisions based off of my single post. I have had an absolutely terrible experience with it, first off its loud as ****. That didnt bother me at first but now 9 months later its kind of annoying not only to me but the people surrounding me. I also have had major problems with it that nobody could ever seem to figure out since I've had it. I've been to 5 different shops/tuners and talked to many people, I somehow lost about 20hp from bolting it on. I recently cut off the cat and looked inside and it was perfectly fine and everything was snug and secure. So now its catless, loud as hell, slow, and annoying. I'm about to put back on the stock header and downpipe, my header was recently extrude honed and bored out a little bit and we'll see if that does anything. So if you dont want to take the slight chance of losing horsepower dont get it, but if your a betting man go ahead!

The 2.4 and 2.0 don't have sai. Only the 2.2.

The Megan exhaust is loud as hell to start with so combined with this I can imagine how loud it would be.

Ive had mine on for about a week now. I have the 1.5in ceramic coating with a cat and 2.5 dp and a gmpp touring catback. I havent got on it yet cuz from what I heard you have to break in teh cat first or you can clog it. The engine definately feels smoother and quite a bit torqueier. It is a little louder, but not a whole lot ( remember, I havent had it above 3500 rpm yet) But it is deeper sounding. I didnt even bother using the bolts they gave me after all the complaints, I drilled out the whole in the dp a bit and used 12mm grade 12.9 socket head cap screws. I havent got a CEL yet. The biggest problem I had was that the bung for the O2 sensor on the collector is pointing down so the connector doesnt reach, They give you an extension but its supposed to be for the rear and doesnt fit the front without modification. I modified mine to work with the front and was left with extra wire that I coiled up and zip tied together. I managed to reroute the rear sensor so that it would just barely reach. The rear O2 sensor is very close to the exhaust tunnel shield, I just bent mine a bit. Also, not sure if it was the hole or the threads on the O2 sensor but my rear O2 sensor was very hard to reinstall. And of course torqueing some of the header nuts is a PITA. But now that the headache of installing it is over my only complaint is that theres a smell, kinda like burning rubber or something, I thought it would go away after a while but now after 300km its still there, maybe it just needs more time???
