After reading your article, I'm back to stock filter with modded box.

I just noticed a BIG difference in blower whine volume when I switched.

Guess thats the price I pay driving like a grandpa and keeping it under 4k lol
****, i wish i could drive like that and keep my MPG average above 21, but that's just not happening lol.

Turned down the radio, opened the window, and floored it in 2nd...... ok ok, there IS some whine..... BUT, it's still much quieter than when I had the AEM intake.

I used to be able to hear the whine over the sound of the radio and exhaust with ease, now I have to listen carefully, haha.

If you have a modded box with stock filter, and aftermarket exhaust, you may have a hard time hearing it.

Thats my experience at least

I have no trouble hearing my blower with stock filter and modded box.

The H62 is no louder than the M62 either if anyone is wondering.

Full exhaust: Ported gmpp exhaust manifold, 3"-2.5" catless downpipe, corsa touring catback.

Not sure why you guys cant hear blower whine.

Here's my airbox mod....

You should easily hear it at wot with the windows down. Rev to 5k and youll hear it. If not, you did something wrong.

If you did, it would sound similar to my video...

Back in the day, when I first attempted an airbox mod, I hacked up the box, and guess what it was quieter than stock. Sound harmonics can be a funny thing.

I can vouch for staged. My buddy and I did the air box mod on his ss supercharged and we could hear it quite well in the car with the windows down a little bit because it was still cold as ****

Maybe I have an exhaust leak? My muffler has gotten a LOT louder since I put it on almost 2 years ago, haha
