Boost temps...
This isn't my usual home but since you guys are running M62's and I have a JR62 on my RSX figured I would see what you guys think. I designed and built an aftercooler for my car. Got everything hooked up, ran the coolant lines. The cobra h/e is being modified, because the RSX has zero room in the bumper area. Basically, I am cutting off the stock bungs and moving them 90 degrees from the original location. Well, the shop is still working on it, so I just joined the two sides together and did some datalogging. At 9.1psi (11psi pulley) I was seeing 130F at 8000RPM for IAT post compressor. This is without a h/e in place. My real question is, how much lower would the boosted IAT's get with the h/e in place?
Thats hard to say. Are applications are diffenrent in the fact that we are running it @ 12.5 psi from the factory and more out of its efficeny range. Are intake temps are going to be higher then your application. Unless you can talk to one of the 2.4l swap guys that run it in about the same range as you. But if I had to guess I would day about 20-30 cooler. Also for us 130F is not bad.
I won't put a guess on it without more info. What type of extractor core are you using? What type of flow is your pump putting out? Do you have a reserve tank? How much airflow will your heat exchanger get?
It all makes a difference.
It all makes a difference.
