FWD to AWD
i was thinking about this idea my self so im going to bring this back from the dead first off what cars did GM build that where awd with a ecotech set up hmmmmm finding a complete junker to rob parts from car or off the shelf parts i can see finding a vibe awd or using just about any irs rear end fabbing up trailing arms and supports would not be a problem with a plasma cutter some torches and a welder and some steel would be no different then any other wild projects hot rodder's take on just take some know how and some ***** to do it.
me personally would i try this hell no i already have a nightmare in my garage but i see this being no different from any motor swap just gathering the parts to make it work and to me i think that would be the easy part hard part would be trying to figure out how wild i wanted to go with it if it where me and i was going to do something crazy mite as well go all out using a narrowed vette rear end or something but im sure a aztech or something from the buick awd lines could be used as well as any other car brands.
Finding a proper trans that will work with the ecotech being that nobody has done this it would be good to have a few different ones on hand for fitment all new mounts would need to be made as well as work to the drive shaft tunnel im sure would need to be done.
but if your willing to go that far you mite as well just go all out with a complete motor swap and drive line swap from a wrecked something that will best fit your needs it only takes time and money lol
its funny doing a google surch for awd cobalt expecting someone may have done this for me to look at i get a link to a site i post on some times lol
