I swear that thing he's got is going around the country. I don't know what it is but its serious. I've never had anything knock me out and the first day I got it I didn't get out of bed all saturday. I was sick for 2 weeks and am just getting over the chest cough now. Most ridiculous thing I've ever had.

To be honest they went away for the little while I had this but I don't think it was a worthwhile tradeoff.

interesting approach to a "build"

Wow... can't believe I missed that one...

Actually, I'm not a power hungry fool... I want a daily driver, not a race car.
If I wanted maximum power, I'd be going for the most aggressive cam I could find, and slap on a turbo.
But.... I want the street-ability of an SC, combined with the easily preserved idle of semi-mild cams.
Call it what you will... but I'm going for what I like in a car, and really don't give a **** what other people think about it.

Toodles!

I want the same kind of balance but it seems very hard with the limitations we have. Are there any kind of cams for us that will be that "in between" to allow us to have the best of both sides without sacrificing to much?

Lol, I still don't get where you people get 272 cams are wild race cams. DD's just fine on stock idle.

They aren't wild race cams... but they sure as hell aren't the most street-able out there.

They are perfectly streetable, hence the popularity of a 272 duration grind on a lot of different cars as common modifications.

I didn't like them....

Edit:
Yes they are common... on turbo cars...
The back pressure of the turbine makes a big difference.

For what reason did you not like them?

I winter drive the car on occasion. The 'peaky-ness' was a bit annoying on slippery streets.
I guess summer driving with them would be pretty fun though.

Edit:
Keep in mind though... I only used them long enough to tune them, and test for a few days.

Mine are nothing but power from 2000-7500rpm. Idles at stock rpm. I couldn't be happier. Got about 15,000 miles on them now.

I normally drive within the 2000-3000 rpm range, and it just seemed to remind me of a turbo car... right around 2600RPM the car seemed to wake up and really move.
To be honest, if it was a weekend drive, I'd love them... but for the purpose of the car, they just aren't my cup of tea.

Not to mention driving with them all this winter with summer tires and zero issues.
