I want to get a bigger engine in the future and turn this car into a project car but I really don’t know what all I’ll need to do. After I get the engine, what else would I need to do to make sure my car can handle the power?

^he's dead on. A few people have done it, one did it himself and was successful, another has been working on it for a long awhile paying someone else (long story lots of getting screwed over by legit appearing shotty shops)

 

If you have to ask us I'm going to go out on a limb and say this isn't the best route for a project car. You'd be money and sanity ahead throwing a turbo along with appropriate supporting mods on there instead. If you love the idea of a V8 swap I would recommend looking into a more friendly platform like a Miata.
