Need honing tool

Any one know where I can pick one of these up tomorrow. Napa autozone pepboys no go any one have one.

Nice there is one close to where I building the motor practically on the way. Worse comes to worse it wont be perfect.

well with that one you get the crossstitch pattern. These i feel would take too much material of the cylinder and dump it on my crank I rebuilding the motor in the car. Maybe they will have the first one ill stop by anyway.

ahh ok i see now..didnt know u were gonna do it in the car. Ya i would agree, u def dont want any metal shavings on ur crank lol. But ya they had like 3 different kinds one time, i havent been there in 7-8 months so they may have stopped selling it

well just have to hope they have it build proceeds either way worse comes to worse if i decide i need that specific hone ill leave the car apart and order it.

just either way when u break in the motor put a small strong magnet in the oil pan and it will grab any shavings really quick...my uncle is an engine builder and he does this when he does motors.

haha I actually looked at my neodymium magnets as I was thinking of that I could do to catch shavings. Great minds come up with awesome techniques.

woah those are some huge numbers. My friend is having his ls3 in his camaro built. has a cage fuel cell basically a 8-9 sec car. They are looking for 1400 hp but should have room to grow.

i launched my dad's friends camaro that ran an 8.21 in the 1/4...i launched it off the trans brake at 4k rpm and blacked out for like 5 seconds i got used to it thpugh after a few tries

always lucky to know people who have more resources then you do allows you to do new things. I know ill have a hard time convincing my friend to let me do a pass but needless to say I will try my best haha.

if your using total seal rings you need a ball hone of 240 grit anything ruffer and the rings will have a hard time seating

no offense but if you have never launched a car with that much horsepower i wouldn't blame your friend for not letting you, thats alot of money to quite easily be gone in seconds. not saying you would crash it but 1400hp and 300hp is a huge difference on how the beast launches and reacts.
