As for the years end for his project, not with the process you described. I have experienced first hand how slow simple processes can be, simply because the bigger jobs are where the companies earn their bread and butter. One of's and custom stuff takes a long time and the time quoted is never the real time.
Matty told me this when I first started and I really wanted him to be wrong. He wasn't.
16 months actually and I might be doing just a touch more to my car.

It isn't the man hours or the cost. It is the time spent on the money making jobs.
so where are you getting the rods from??? so far the only thing I actually found on the internet was JBP which is way to expensive for my needs. and gmpp which is even more expensive. I just wanna replace the stock ones cause what I plan on building I personally dont trust the stock rods to do the job. plus oem rods I was told weigh a ton
I'm getting my rods from Crower. They had a part number for the 2.2/2.0 rods (same rod for both engines
), thanks to me they now have a seperate part number for the 2.0L rod... hopefully. Either way, I sent in one of my stock rods to make sure they didn't **** up the order. I had to pay $660 for the set, we couldn't find a sponsor for rods, so we had to pay

That is only the "cost" of work and materials, not the retail on custom rods.
You can use the 2.2 rods, but you have to get pistons with a 21mm wrist pin instead of the LSJ's 23mm. GM SportCompact said the 21mm wrist pin was good to 700hp and then they bumped it up to 22mm for the higher power builds.

I got my cam blank, its packaged up and ready to ship out with my stock exhaust cam. My rods should be shipping out tomorrow. My block is done at the machine shop and I just need to set the ring gap before I take it home, and the crank will be completely done on Saturday.
Thats what I was figuring just thought I would ask. i had a guy tell me that you could get 2 intake cam blanks for the lsj insted of the intake and regrinding your stock exhaust cam. Would that even work?
