Just tryin to get a hold of John, the guy at Ferrea who was helpin us with valvetrain. I've called almost everyday for the last 2 weeks. A different reason for him not being at the phone every time
Ok today was a very good one. Finally got a hold of John from Ferrea, got all the details squared away with the valvetrain. Talked to a guy from a local dealership and they agreed to sponsor the NB shafts, and sell me the cam gears at cost This leaves head/main studs which I will just pay for!!!!!

No, they were gonna deliver it, but I told them not to until they increased the pedal pressure. They said it only had 13 lbs of pedal pressure, stock is like 34. So they were doin something to the spring to make it a little more stiff.

Dude, are you joking? The 08 Cobalt is nothing special dude, they just rated it what it ACTUALLY makes. I wouldn't race you, just because I wouldn't want to embarrass you. Plus those stage kits are gonna blow the **** out of those motors. The stage kit brings it up to 290 hp, the engineer I talked to at SEMA said the pistons are good for 320 hp. You think someone is going to get the stage kit without getting intake/exhaust too? No way. Pop goes the piston
Plus thats 290 to the crank, I'll have more than that to the wheels on pump gas
I'm getting HP Tuners very soon, so if you need a tune, I'd be happy to give you some hope of loosing by less than a bus length LOLOL

you got that figured out.....JK well easy to do when going as extreme as you.

you know what. last I heard the SS/sc lsj was rated 205HP at the crank when there were many putting out 218 220WHP and not one was under 205whp. So why would it not be WHP for the SS/TC. plus have you looked at the power band. it is not peaky at all. good luck making that kind of power. at least your SC and it will be easier but I want to see your dyno..

At this point, I'm gonna say no. Then if it is finished, it'll be a huge surprise, and if its not, it will be expected so there won't be as much disappointment.

Also magazines rated it differently, Motor Trend rated it 6.2 to 60 and 14.8 in the 1/4. IIRC Car&Driver rated it 6.0 to 60 and 14.4 in the 1/4. Either way, it will be sad seeing the Cobalt community split into warring factions rather than banding together and raping other cars
Which is why I will not have any part of the battle, I will only race other cars... Plus, it will be a LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time before an LNF cobalt will be able to even get close to giving me a worth while race

Insurance my friend. GM under rates it, so the insurance will be cheaper. In the list of the top 10 most expensive insurance cars, the Cobalt SS didn't make it on the list, while the SRT-4 and others did

A CBR1000RR is just practice practice pracitce and I like low 10's. and I dont mind trailering it to the track. I truly want speed. thats it. and I have owned a bike since I was 8. thanks for making my decision easier.

Finally got the ordering info squared away with the valvetrain. Should take 2-3 weeks, for my custom length +1mm titanium intake and exhaust valves, dual valve springs, and titanium retainers. ~$1500 worth of valvetrain for about $800. Still really pricey for me, but its a ridiculous deal!

Ferrea uses the wrong stuff?!?! I've been in contact with a guy at Ferrea since a month or two after I blew it up. He gave me a huge deal on the stuff, its not free like my pistons and clutch were, but its still saving me hundreds of dollars.
