Why do you think I added the ~ thingy!?!?
My cooling mods right now, are a cobra HE, dual pass, and a ported blower (made a huge difference). I'm in the processes of getting a 2.5-3 gallon trunk mounted resevoir, and converting the intercooler system to distilled water, and instead of the stock intercooler pump, I'll use a much bigger inline pump for greatly increased flow. With the water tank in the back sporting distilled water, that means I can just dump ice into the box and have ice water in my resevoir for going to the track and stuff

Ok, well I got the cam spec today from Crane. The cams are shipping out from Florida on Monday. The originally had a more agressive grind planned, but since the idiots at GM don't make an exhaust cam blank for the LSJ head, they had to mild up the grind due to limitation of the stock cam. So the final specs are as follows...
224 duration @ .050
.475" lift
110 LSA
So its like a more agressive 280 cam spec (280 cams have 222 duration @ .050, and .440" lift)
However I'm getting adjustable cam gears so I'm definatly gonna play with the cam timing, 107 LSA should yield rediculous top end
We are really gonna get the head flowing good too.

So by reading this your cams are a tiny bit longer open and a higher lift vs the 280 cam spec, thus making them more aggressive?
If that is correct, I somewhat just taught myself cam theory.

Congrats on getting the cams ready to go!!
So, you're looking at about what, mid January to have it all ready to go?
I wish I could be here to see it, but I'm actually leaving for cali on the 16th of Dec.!!!
I'll have to stop by sometime next summer to do a couple of runs against you. You know, once I have my 08.5 Cobalt and Stage 2 or BSR tune.
And maybe get one of the ss/sc stage 2 guys to be the film car... if they can keep up.
(street gas tune of course
)

Plus thats 290 to the crank, I'll have more than that to the wheels on pump gas
I'm getting HP Tuners very soon, so if you need a tune, I'd be happy to give you some hope of loosing by less than a bus length LOLOL
Dude, are you joking? The 08 Cobalt is nothing special dude, they just rated it what it ACTUALLY makes. I wouldn't race you, just because I wouldn't want to embarrass you. Plus those stage kits are gonna blow the **** out of those motors. The stage kit brings it up to 290 hp, the engineer I talked to at SEMA said the pistons are good for 320 hp. You think someone is going to get the stage kit without getting intake/exhaust too? No way. Pop goes the piston

By the way, none of the RL/GXP's with the BSR tune have popped yet, and that is hovering right at the 320 mark. At least a couple guys on the gxp forums have had the tune for over a year now. I think the pistons will do just fine.
Enough of my daydreaming, back on track. When do you think you might start putting everything back together?
I'm guessing since you got the cams all done, now you can get the valvetrain all figured out. And then what is left after that? Tuning and then you're good to go right?
My car will be totally streetable. The cam grind is a little bit more aggressive than 280 cams with considerably more lift. It might idle rough, but that just means its bad ass
It will still prolly get 30 mpg on the highway.
