the 4274 is a wicked turbo. 740 awhp on a friends evo at 41 psi. with plenty of room to play still. this weekend we are putting it on 50psi and going for 850 to the tires. no timing added. only running 12 degree's. 11.3 afr. the egt's average 1200 at 170 mph.
i have some fucked up friends

you want power. you have to go big or go home.

also, brake boosting. you're going to learn the hard way about it. you will have to do it from a roll. a stage 2 car will jump out hard on you, while you sit there waiting.

Stock head and cams yes...

Paul, I thought you hit full boost at 5000 rpm by looking at your dyno graphs. Why am I only getting it at 4000rpm on a much smaller turbo?

4300 the wastegate is open, but i make peak TQ at 5200 rpm. Just because it's at full spool doesn't mean your making full power there.
as for your setup, depends on you hot side A/R, journal or ball bearing, and compressor specs

Yes you have ball bearings & I just have 360* journal. Forgot about that one.

Well then I will loose a lot of races then won't I? If I decide on a turbo, I'm deciding on dealing with its gayness as well. I will never brake boost, end of story. I simply will not do that. I'll spray nitrous based on MAP pressure, once it hits a certain boost level it will stop spray, but I'll never brake boost.

**** Yo COUCH!!! I would go TVS, but looking at the cost of thing, I might as well spend the money and get a big ass turbo and my **** loads of power, than get a TVS and make not that compared to the turbo. Trust me, it KILLS me to do this to my poor car.

You should just take the SC off and cut a hole in your hood for ram air. That should help your flow!

Perhaps, but it wouldn't be making use of the head/cams setup.
17 psi @ 5300 + 14 psi @ 8200 = SRT-4 territory

Well ****!!! That means you can get me a turbo that gets full boost at 2500 rpm, holds peak boost to 8200 rpm and makes 400 whp on pump gas (91 shitane)!?!? Count me in!!!

find an s.c that'll do that on our cars lol.
once you get to certain power levels there's always tradeoff's to be made my man.
gt3071 full boost @3500 rpm, makes boost at idle (seriously) will pull pretty hard and will make your 400whp on a relatively low boost level (@22-23psi on a stock motor)
