Turbo progress is finally underway. Gutted engine bay pics inside!
Yes, there might be metal there... but what about the wiring? What about the headlight housing? What about the fender just on the other side of that thin sheet of metal by his turbo? Not only that, but you don't really want to soak your engine bay in all that heat.
By the way, this is just out of curiosity and not meant in any bad way... but do you own that shop in WV? I'm a little confused on your relation to that. I was under the impression that you owned a performance shop there, but someone said you were an audio tech at a shop that you don't own. Please clear it up for me.

I am the General Manager at a shop called Tony's Street Dreamz in Morgantown, WV owned by a guy named Tony, managed by me.
Motivated Motorsports is the performance oriented division here run by myself.
We also have a home division called, you guessed it, Tony's Home Dreamz run by our home manager Jason.
To clear it up, yes I am an MECP First Class audio installer. I have been doing performance on the side for about 6 years now and within the past two years I have taken it to a nationally recognized level, now bearing the name Motivated Motorsports.
HMM, I'd be in on this "race" too.
and damnit dan get your car back together, you got a cobalt to run still.
500whp I hope you have some engine work done, if not, it ain't gonna happen.

Yes I know, you made like what 400whp on some fabbed together kit? Let me show you guys how it's done okay?
You sure are making a name for your "shop".... A bad one.
I wish you the best of luck with your build, since obviously you are so "baller" and feel the need to bash these 2 innovators....
Budget builds are where its at
That is all.
BTW I don't see anyone breaking my numbers, so I guess it isn't that bad, and oh yeah, which is the only one that's still running and driving........ wait that's me,
I'm saving that quote for later usage.
it can be done, but you get what you pay for. my first setup only ran me about $1300 in parts to build. but it sucked somewhat. New setup, well ****, I spent a large some of money lol. but the results speak for themselves I picked up 60whp at the same boost levels.

FWIW, I already have my pistons, stage 4 spec clutch, the borg warner turbo, some flanges and gaskets, and HP Tuners. I still haven't even touched that $2000 out of pocket expense yet. All that stuff was paid for when I sold my blower set up, except HP Tuners which I bought for the shop and has already more than paid for itself with the cars I've tuned.
And yes I am stirring up quite a **** storm here, but it's because the SS and Redlines came with (in my eyes) the same kind of motor that you see in Evos, DSMs, Supras, etc. It can make that mark on history when you look back in 50 years like the men of old do today and say oh man I'd love me a 454 big block or 427. The DSM guys already get it with the 4G63 because it's an iron block and can make gobs of power. I want to boost the Ecotec from the factory and put it on the map where it belongs. You all already know it's a great engine.
Because I'm not spending gobs of money to have other shops or internet companies make stuff and install stuff for me.

I'm not in here to start a **** storm, just trying to help point you in the right direction and clear up some misconceptions I see in here. And trust me, I love seeing turbo'd LSJ's out beating up on everything else, it's why I built up my car.
As for spending gobs of money, well ****, you get what you pay for. I was offered an opportunity by a few companies to test things, and **** who's going to say no to that. But everything on my car was built, tested, and tuned by me, in my driveway. No shop, no help (cept a little on the 1st setup) And pretty much no knowledge on turbo charging. I build old school muscle cars and V8's this is my first foray into the wonderful world of 4-bangers, and **** I think I did pretty well so far.
Anyway, back to the thread, I'm on lunch.
s/c traitor. This motor was originally designed to be turbo.... Saab motor.. lol
