Lol I have my set thats holds me back but what I have in mind I REALLY want it all comes down to price I guess I know it won't be cheap but I could be wrong

whats everyones opinion on the aftermarket oe style headlights that are out there? after owning my car for 8 years and at least 3 sets of hids and numerous high output halogens im biting the bullet and doing a retrofit. its my daily and my headlights have seen better days (ive polished and even cleared the lenses to clean them up) so im going to grab another set of headlights to mod. local junkyards dont have any decent housings so im looking at new aftermarket.

they are smoked ss style lenses. anyone have any thoughts?

As a guy who does retros all the time i get the aftermarket oems from ebay all the time, from many different suppliers. None are consistant... Like ill buy from the same supplier and get a different brand of headlights. Important part to me is getting a set with the harnesses and brackets - some do not include those. So far they have all been decent and i havent had any complaints of the lenses clouding and yellowing yet... Just be sure to wax them regularly. I do not recommend clearcoating them

my shop clear coats lights all the time. scuff them with red scotch brite, clean them well and use proper automotive clear. however most of the time we are doing tail and marker lights, and we are tinting them (add some transparent black toner to the clearcoat and it gives you a very glossy tinted light that looks factory). my headlights were getting too pitted to polish out so we cleared them to fill the pits, and they actually had more light output than previous. they are holding up just fine, been 2 years and no cracking or hazing.

i do hear ya though, i wouldnt clear a fresh set of lenses, there is no point. wax is the best thing.

Thank you!

This is what you should do with all your lights, whether headlights, tails or side markers: TREAT THEM LIKE PAINT. The lenses are made from the same material as your clear coat.
So wash them with care, clay bar them, and seal/wax them. And they'll last forever

Hey guys quick question about wiring up aftermarket headlights, I got these; For 05 10 Cobalt 07 09 G5 05 06 Pursuit Black Halo Projector Headlights w DRL | eBay

When they arrive, will I need to do any special wiring, or are they basically plug and play?
