Cobalt SS models have slightly tinted headlight lenses stock. If you want to experiment a bit your best bet is smoked vinyl. They have all sorts of shades (and colors!) on Ebay, it's relatively inexpensive ($10 shipped for a 12"x 48" roll) and if you don't like it you just rip it off

Just a little help for those who nightshade their taillights and want to redo them after they get a little worn out, to strip the nightshade off harmlessly I just sprayed goof off on them and wiped and it came off cleanly and didn't kill the plastic. Repainted and clean looking as it gets.

I actually found the best way to remove Nightshdes is with nightshades itself, just spray a nice amount on and scub, the old stuff comes right off

With goof off you don't gotta scrub. Just wipe off the paint.

Finished my customized OEM taillights. LED tubing for running lights, 2007 Passat LED inserts for brake and blinkers. I like how these turned out. They are much brighter than the camera can capture, and no part of them is amber, they are bright red through and through.

The Retrofit Source sometimes sells the E-55 projectors, but their EvoX-Rs are even better. I have the EvoX-Rs on my Cobalt and they definitely have very good light output.

Is there a How-to on here how to reinstall stock headlights back on from Gen 2 Projectors equipped with HID's? Ive searched around and came up short. Basically I want to take out my Gen 2 projector assemblies out so I can take them apart and clean the inside cause theyre pretty hazed from the inside, but I want my car to still be driveable in the meantime so Im putting in my second set of headlights in.

How bright are the K2 tails? In every picture I've seen they don't seem too bright.
Are they plug and play or is there some wiring needed?

What they ^^ said. The K2 tails now come complete with resistors as well. They are much brighter than the stock tails.

Question about headlights.
I currently have stock headlights. I got the cree gen 5 9007 led "bulbs". The light spread is fine, but I don't want to be blinding on comers so I still need to tweak and align. My question is, if I go with depo gen 4's with projectors, they say their bulbs are H7's. But they are plug n play? I haven't seen how they plug in , but how are they doing that? If I get the gen 4's then I'll have to get another set of cree led lights, I assume....H7's.

Although I like the tube LED tails I made this spring a lot, one thing I didn't like about them was that only the outers light up as brake lights. The nice thing about the "GTR" style double LED tails I had before these, was that all four of them lit up.

So I got to thinking why not combine the two? I happened to have a spare set of K2 Motor smoked red tails so I used those instead of the clear smoked ones. I also blacked out the insides to give them even more of a "smoked" look.

Here's what they looked like without the lenses:

Here they are with the lenses:

Here they are in the car. They don't seem as dark here because of the bright sunlight.

And this is them lit up in the car (outer rings are running lights, inner rings are brake lights):

I have a promotional video of how they work that I can't show on here but if you PM me I'll send you the link.
They also have the sequential blinkers & brakes.
My next project is going to be to make these fully switchable so they can function completely like the "old" GTR tails with just the K2 rings, or, at the flick of a switch, they could be switchbacks with the K2 rings functioning ONLY as brakes. What can I say, it keeps me off the street
