1st Gen projector 12v LED replacement

I'm replacing the 4v LEDs in my headlights with 12v. They aren't wired in a series but they do have this black box connected between the wires. Since they aren't wired in a series then that small black box must be reducing the voltage right?

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ange+color+ledI've used this post which has helped but mire LEDs are already wired like the second picture yet the new 12v LEDs won't work. I'm guessing that black box before the LEDs reduces voltage but I would like to know first before I remove it.

Well II could only wait for about 5 minutes and then I tried and removed the box from the LEDs. Now I have 3 12v high power LEDs instead of 4v.

WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb
12 VDC Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
With 1 High Power LED
Polarized bulb, Available in Pure White, Blue, Green, Red and Amber
$ 4.95

I'll post some night pics tonight.

I took the pics in the daytime but in the shade. They are brighter than before and whiter.

Did you keep the stock diode or does these LEDs have diodes built in? I remember the many times I replaced my halo LEDs I connected a LED to a battery charger which is 12v to test and it blew, duh no diode...Just curious as to how you wired yours.

On the single LEDs or the LED halos. With the halos I kept the original resistor box so they wouldn't be too bright and the single LEDs have built in resistors.
