Ok...so I've been doing some looking around. I found these lights...they are 1st gens.:

http://www.buyeurolights.com/0507-ch...k-p-13662.html

I also found these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...spagenameZWDVW

As you can see...they are the exact same lights...but a MUCH different price. My question is why would anyone pay more money for the exact same light? The only difference that there might be is the more expensive lights might have a warranty...so if anything went wrong, you wouldn't be screwed. But for $300, I highly doubt you are getting better quality. Am I missing something here?

Bump

Dude 10,000k will likely be worse than stock. The higher up you go on the K scale the less you'll see.

Different Colors

Outlined below are the various color temperatures (CCT / Kelvin) currently available:

10,000K - A very high CCT used in horticulture and aquarium applications.

6,000-6,500K - A high CCT daylight source used to simulate average outdoor light conditions.

5,000K - Enhances blues, dulls reds, and imparts a bluish tint to whites and greens. Used mainly in museums, jewelry stores, and hospitals.

3,700K-4,000K - Neutral colored light. Enhances colors equally without emphasizing yellow or blue. Used mainly in showrooms, bookstores, and office areas.

3,000K-3,200K - Most commonly used in homes but also in libraries, office areas, and retail stores.

2,700K - Used in restaurants, hotel lobbies, boutiques, and homes.

Exactly...so that should just go to prove that by buying the more expensive lights doesn't mean it's going to last longer or have better quality!!

Ok....so I was going to pull out my DRL fuse so that my halos and LEDs wouldn't be on during the day. Well, today before I pulled out the fuse, I turned my car on, left the lights on AUTO, took off the E-Brake (had my gf in the seat with her foot on the brake pedal), and went to see what exactly came on. To my surprise, the only thing that was on were the projectors. I decided not to pull out the fuse because once I get my HID system in there, driving around with the projectors on during the day won't hurt because they run cooler than regular halogen. So this is for anyone who wanted to pull out the DRL fuse to save their halos...you DON'T need to pull it out because they don't run during the day. Again, this is for the 2nd gen. halo/projector. I don't know how it is for the 1st and 3rds.

Your car is an 07 (or an 08) so the DRLs are the actual headlight. I'd still recommend pulling the fuse once you get an HID kit, as most DRL systems don't use full voltage for the headlights and that would probably screw with the HIDs.

Chances are...when I get the HIDs, I'll just turn AUTO lights off during the day...that way nothing is on. I don't know though. I have an 07 btw. I was just surprised not to see the rings on...that was the impression I was under.

A week after I installed my HID kit my DRL randomly stop working but my auto lights still work fine :P I lucked out. When I turn on my car all lights stay off and when its dark all light come on. I know having halos on in the daytime looks cool but the less wear and tear the better imo

Yeah bro. To be honest...I checked out my halos during the day...and you really can't tell they're on. They look better when it's dusk out.

Highly against the law for the red, and get with the manufacturer and ask them, they can tell you, and I know blue is illegal to but I think that would be hot!!!!

So since I don't want to start a new thread. Do HID's work in these projectors? Does it have a cut-off also and do they fit 09 SS/TC's?

Thanks

uh you are badly mistaken....projectors are what give you cutoffs.... you cannot "really" achieve the sharp cutoff with reflector housings..

Replacement CCFLs?

Does anyone know what size the CCFL halos are, I know you can get quality replacements for them. I just need to know the size if anyone has done this already.

Has anyone had any experience with the projector headlights sold through ZZP? Only $199, Im considering ordering from them instead of some no name on Ebay.
