Unhappy Best Way to Wash your Cobalt

Hi fellow CobaltSS members:

I am having trouble with the simplest thing -- washing my car and keeping it looking "clean". I have mods and bells and whistles, yet my car looks like a hazy vehicle. I want to restore the shine that my car certainly deserves. What are the best ways to achieve a quality luster. Currently I bought Meguiar's car wash liquid and Meguiar's spray on wax. The wash worked well but my wax job looked like...well streaky garbage! What am I doing wrong! Please provide me products/techniques that yall think will work! Thanks!

Don't use spray on wax. Just a tip. Hatrick knows what he's doing so what he says you know it's right.

a bar of clay.... DUH! haha

but really, it is a bar of special clay, or synthetic similar, that pulls imperfections out of your paint. well, thats the short explanation.

I've tried window wipes, work decent. Invisible glass is ok. I just stick to windex a lot of the time.

yeah, windex and paper towel work best for me. you really don't have to worry about scratching glass.

i dont know if its true, but i heard if you use windex the amonea is supposed to be bad for the tint when you do the inside of the windows? lol like i said, not sure if its true though

Invisible Glass in the spray bottle is awesome for windows, MUCH better than windex if you ask me. The wipes (all of them) suck and leave lint everywhere though.

you're probably right. if i'm in a hurry i use pater towels and windex, but not on the inside. usually i use armor all glass cleaner wipes, and go over it with a microfiber towel to get the residue off.

yes amonea can start to peel the tint, i have been detailing cars for a Chevy dealership for 6 years now and repeatedly see customers come in with bubbled or peeling tint because of it.

using amoniated window cleaner will also discolor tint. Just stick to an automotive window cleaner. For was I've used liquid wax, which I liked, and meguires carnuba wax. A very important thing to remember when waxing, is do it in the shade. Using wax on a hot car will leave streaks.
