Body matching paint in Canada

I was at my dealer last week and they said GM will not sell spray cans of body matching paint in Canada . They did tell me that NAPA will make a batch if you supply them with your paint code. However they can not do it for Sunburst Orange, the mixture is complicated and they feel it will not spray well. Any body in Canada had any luck finding cans of body matching paint?

I manage a collision center and am warning you now that the stuff that in the spray can is not the same stuff that is on the car. More importantly, heavy metallic paints like yours are very difficult to spray even when using the correct stuff let alone rattlecans. Unless you are skilled, it will look blotchy. What is it that you need the paint for anyway?

I want to paint my upper grille and some interior trim. But I am very cautious about the front grille, if it will not match perfectly it will look very cheesy.

WalkerSS...

I just color matched my projector housing PERFECT. It is true the stuff in the rattle cans is never going to be a perfect match.

I have a LASER BLUE balt and mine looks perfect. I got the paint mixed from a place here in Scarborough called PAINT CIRCUIT.

They used my paint code along with a scan of my bumper to account for paint fade. The paint was matched in about 10 min. $25 for 16oz can and then picked up a 21oz can of clear coat.

I am confident that if i wanted to paint my front grill that it would be a dead on match.

Be careful where you go to get it color matched as some places will charge you to use their camera to scan the body. Have them scan the part of the car that is closest to where you want to paint to ensure the closest match.

If you need more info on the place let me know and i can give you their details.

Hope this helps

Ya man if you could send me their contact info that would be great. I will test the paint first to check if I get the same match as you. Thanks for the help.

Damn commies in Canada! Why the hell won't they let you buy spray paint?

Too bad your not local I have like 4 cans of sunburst orange left over that have never been used at all.

BTW they do match pretty damn close.

I am not sure why they do not bring it in. Are the aerosol? That may be why.
