alright so i got dupli color engine paint (black) we scuffed the pipes with a red scuff pad then painted.. well some spots are rough.. we then got the bright idea of putting it in the oven on a rag..and the rag stuck to the pipe. so how do you CORRECTLY paint charge pipes?

powdercoat is the correct way.....

the only spray bomb way that works for me is if you put clear over it..... otherwise it looks like crap. light coats and cosistency is what really matters. usually prepping with 600 grit wet paper works best too.

could i leave this dry then hit with 600 wet spray light coats then clear?

yeah let it dry because spray paints a real bitch to get off period...... let your sand paper soak(get proper wetsanding paper) and then use a little bit of soap in some warm water and wetsand away. get it perfectly smooth.

let it dry completely... no water anyway. clean with a wax and grease remover let that dry(it dries fast) and then start painting. light coats in a non windy area. 3 coats should do the trick... 4 for insurance. ALLOW FOR PROPER DRY TIMES BETWEEN COATS. then clear.

technically idont like painting stuff like that because its really easy to damage. powdercoating will with stand stuff better.
