honestly theres tons of variables. for a decent paint job maybe 3500-4000......for a good one 6-8k. all depends on the area you live, the amount of prep work you want done, how much wetsanding and buffing, what extent you want to take the paint job to etc etc

Macco did a great job on my friends car. I was suprised. He payed for the 350 one, then a extra 100 to have it sanded and primed. Looks like it came that way stock. Cept there are blue flakes in this one.

Don't ever expect to sell the car either... is there a reason for the change other than just durability?

Maaco is known for shitty prep work. Two words: Brillo Pad. They also use a single stage paint.

maaco.....literally has 55 gallon drums of paint sitting in the back of their shop and they find something that matches closely to what you have and who cares hahahaha. be real here. if your seriously going to paint the car, pull the glass, door handles, moldings, fender skirts, take off the badges, remove all the panels you possibly can etc etc and paint it the right way. paint is just like building a motor....buiild it right or just dont do it at all.

in all honesty have your friend go to reputable shops in the area and ask for a quote on how much for a paintjob.

like i said you get what you pay for.....maaco=250 to 500 for a paintjob......a good shop will range from 5k to over 20k(the 20k if you get some crazy exotic paint job). you get what you pay for.

Ya they seems to be really hit or miss, probably just depends on where you go. A friend of mine had is 99 grand prix done there and it looks good as new. No telling how long it will last but for now it looks pretty good. Of course he only got plain white, which is what the car was before.

dont Macco it. Mako is good is you drive a POS car you bought for like 1,000-3,000 bucks and its all different colors and **** and you just want it to be 1 solid color. Not a almost brand new Cobalt that was like $15,000+ when you bought it. You want a legit color change its gonna cost you a few grand. Gotta pay for the employees wages for that week or weeks its there, the sandpaper, paint materials, gas/heat in the shop, and then give the business enough money to say they made a decent profit at the end of it all. The better of a place you bring it to will wind up costing more cuase the painter probobly has more experience and is making more money a year then the other guy and it will probobly come out better

if you just get it touched up its not nearly as much as a full color change. thats easy too. just sand it throw some base and reclear it. **** have them put some pearl in the clear and have a yellow pearl

sell the yellow and go with a different color lol. thats the nice thing with a black car. no matter what color you paint it you can still have a black engine bay and it be perfectly acceptable

Depends man really does the paint for one is different prices like red is the most. Also who does it. I got a friend from my church who owns a paint shop to do my two tone for 2k that was labor and paint included. I know people who have gotten it done for 800 before just payed for the paint and there buddy in a shop did it. It could cost between 2k and 4k

yeah if you have a hook up it definately pays off. but in the long run ive learned to quit doing favors for people unless they do something for me first. people tend to take advantage of the fact i do body work and think that everything will come free or be handed to them so basically i almost charge full rate for my work now.

thank you. **** gets on my nervs man. ill do favors for people, but that doesnt mean i spend hours of my time and materials on ur **** and then u go "thanks" and bounce and thats the end of it. not worth the time and aggrivation. I just say "sorry i dont have the equipment at the house to repaint your entire car for free" ya jackass. My sister has me tint her tailights, then 2 weeks later brings them back cause she wants them darker, tint them more, 3 weeks later goes "can you sand them since i need to pass isnpection" have to strip the damn things, and now she goes "when you have some time can you tint them again?" ........ seriously? family man

Currently getting the top half of the car done , along with some extra stuff, and it's costing me $2500. The paint is Nero Pegaso black pearl (think Lamborghini Murcielago).
