Yeah I am torn between color matched silver and blacked out, but am leaning towards black. I think I am going to give one a quick shot of gm silver and see how much I like it, but black would look bitchin'

I still have to mod the cutoff shield on my projectors to give the cutoff a little more color... but I will be sure to get some of those pics up soon.

Thanks everyone.

I have a question about legalities of headlamps... I just realized that the stock turn bulb has 2 filaments (one for DRL and one for Blinkers) while the H7 halogen projectors I am using for the turn signals only have one filament... which means I won't have a DRL... however I do have a halo around the main projector... so I guess my question here is can the halo suffice as the DRL or do I need to retrofit some LEDs or something as a 'legal' DRL?? (also does the DRL have to be amber?)

Thanks for input everyone

Very nice work going on here! I'm not far away, (and will be working south of portage this summer) and hope to meet you sometime and see these in person!

As for your above question, why do you want to stick with DRLs so badly? It's law that all CDN vehicles leave the factory with them (since 1991), but it doesn't mean you have to keep them. Niether my 1991 Caprice Classic nor my 07 SS SC (chrome 1st gen halos) have DRL's, i defeated and pulled the fuse for them. Driving the Caprice for 5 years and the Cobalt for 1.5 years and haven't had any problems other than the odd person flashing me...

Ok, cool... I've got a couple ideas already from talking to a friend of mine, but if those don't work I will probably just nix worrying about it and use the side markers and the halos (which is probably plenty enough for drls.

That would be cool if you are in the area to meet and compare vehicles. Just send me a PM anytime and we can set something up

Thanks andrew can't wait to show em off to all the locals this summer

hey jeff, how ya been?

ya, unfortunately it has been a busier week than I anticipated and have only been able to do a few hours here and there. I should have the bezels painted and the chrome shrouds mounted by the end of this weekend, and with the wiring being complete now all that will be left is a little fiberglassing... so hopefully another update in a few days with some good pics

I also took some time out to do that 3rd brake light LED retrofit we talked about. I submitted a how to earlier today but wasn't approved I guess...? anyway here is a pic of the outcome

I am fairly happy with it only took 2 hours and about $20, let me know if you want me to make you one.

small update: attempted aiming tonight... lol bad idea, it was too cold and was not going my way. I have to aim before I fiberglass... so they are pretty much on hold until it slightly warms up. Anyways here are some pics I took tonight for those who are interested.

I've almost modded my FX35's to be bluer and sharper than stock and they turned out quite nice

Very close to being finished... just want to wait so I don't loose the tips of my fingers lol

ya the halos or shrouds aren't on in those pics. I have one white one around the bi-xenons and a custom made yellow one around the halogen projectors as the turn signal. the halogen projector itself is the DRL. I would have taken more pics but my finger were hurting they were so cold

hey thanks everyone for the kind words. I am planning on having that entire passenger headlight complete and sealed sometime this weekend (keeps fingers crossed).

ya I don't know about a regular amber bulb... I am running a 55w 2500K H7 halogen.

I will post pics of my wiring harness as well as a schematic to explain things a little better for reference to anyone who wants to attempt something so foolish as me
