First Timer - looking for opinions
First Timer - looking for opinions
Hello everyone, just joined up with CobaltSS today and I have been spending alot of my workday reading and looking at photos. I'm not really into making it look really custom and souping up the engine what not, I kind of want to keep it factory looking. I'm driving a '07 Cobalt LS stock for the most part, I have done audio changes to it. Alpine deck, Polk Audio component speakers, 6x9's, Polk Momo sub and an Alpine amp I had laying around. I also rigged up a way to mount my iPod right under my stereo (I'll try to post a pic later if ya'll want to see). I have added GM alloy rims and a GM SS/SC wing to it. Tinted the windows and put on ventshades. Looking for more ideas as to what to do next. I am thinking about trying to locate the SS/SC body panels for it, since I'd like to get a little more sportier look to it, yet keep it as close to factory as possible.

Here's my car the day I drove it home

This is my car after adding new rims, tinting and ventshades

Here's what it looks like now with the addition of the SS/SC spoiler.
I'll welcome any and all suggestions
Something else I forgot, wanted to ask you guys if you know of a way to get my spedometer to read the correct MPH. From the factory the car came with 15 inch rims and I put on 16 inch rims, so at 65, it reads about 5MPH slow. Is this something that can be changed in the computer? The lady at my local dealership said it wasn't able to be corrected, but I gotta think she's FOS.

first you're gonna wanna rub the va-g a little bit. Then you can work your way inside. If she's worth your time go on down to the carpet munchin and she will definately come back, if she's a one timer, just go right on ahead and get in there. Good luck.
first off, if he wants the ventshades, thats his own deal, some people like them, second, if you plan on adding the SS/SC body kit, then keep the spoiler, or any other body kit for that matter.
All in all, awsomeness dude! hope you like diving into her ;-)

agreed. the spoiler doesnt flow with the LS look. the LS looks smoother to me, whereas the SS spoiler fits the more agressive styling of most aftermarket bodykits and the SS bodykit. If you want a spoiler, the RKsport 3 piece lip always looked good to me. But if you intend on getting the SS bodykit as well, itll all match quite nicely.

go there, put in your tire sizes. I highly doubt its 5MPH

1 inch should not have affected you by 5MPH, unless for some reason you didn't go with a lower profile tire, in which case, both you, and the tire place that sold you the set, are idiots. And the lady is correct, without recalibrating everything, you can't just change it to read whatever you want it to read.

Any idea how much it would run me to lower it? I don't want to go too low, I live in WI and if we get as much snow as we've gotten this year, I think going too low will affect my driving in the snow. Also, ideas on how much I can expect to pay for a SS/SC body kit?
