you can or not.

keep in mind the Cobalt trunk has the reverse lights in there, so if you swap bumpers ands, and not trunks the G5 will have no reverse lights, plus i dont think it looks good, just stating its not a must up front. you could drive like that till you found a trunk if thats what it came down too.

 

ive seen a 5 with a cobalt trunk, looks interesting i might say. if do the g5 bumper swap and light swap, an interesting idea to do would be to make the old reverse lights on the cobalt trunk your turn signals(in amber or red) and wire up the g5 bumper reverse lights properly. just an idea

I plan on going with G5 rear end with no spoiler on the G5 deck lid and then the SS lip.. With l.e.d.s in all the lights in the rear end.. Would like to do that this winter. I love this look of it

I found a good price on a GT lip. I have a cobalt LS though. curious if the lip will fit my LS bumper if I cut the slits. Ultimately, I'd love to do the full cobalt to G5 rear swap if I could find all the parts at a good price. Another idea I had was to find a G5 bumper on the cheap from a junk yard and have the whole license plate/reverse light area cut out and swapped over to the cobalt bumper. Leave the round Cobalt tails, wire in the G5 reverse lights and put a G5 deck lid on. I think that would look sweet too. Sure, it would cost some dough for the fab work but I think it would look sweet.
