Halo Replacement
Halo Replacement
Has anybody replaced their halo? I just had one not to light up.
MLurkey, I think that you said you had some 3 MM LED's (considering that's what the halos are)... Has anybody installed new halo's? How do you do it?

i have the same ssue and i emailed CA about it...n this is the response kenny sent
just ounds like theres some wire movement inside the halo housing...but i have yet to get my lights out of my car since i got em in
The leds are come out from the light . Just check that the leads for the leds are not grounding out as the design of the light and adjustment of the light do end up hitting the leds . Make sure the led leads are not grounding out . You can remove the led from that halo and test it outside the light . IF it is blown send it back to us and we can send you a replacement when we receive it back
Thank you ,
Kenny

Ditch those POS LED halos that they give you, and swap in a few CCFL rings from a Logisys computer fan... looks 100 times better, lasts longer, and has way better durability.... plus they work with HID headlights.... (believe me, I know!)
I should keep reposting this link every week... it seems that people keep missing it....

I know it sounds crazy, but the R1 guys have been making their own halos/angel-eyes with this method for years!
Best of all, they are glass... they don't melt!

I already read that Omega, but it doesn't say HOW to get to the halo. Whether I have to take apart the headlight & reseal it with silicone... I know the LED's just pop right out & right back in. I just don't know how to get to the halos.
If you want to take out the actual HALO ring, YES you need to seperate the housings. Once the housings are apart you can just peel away the silicone on the BACK of the HALO housing and it will fall right off. There are 3 parts to the headlight. Clear front, main body that holds ALL LEDS and HALOs, and then the back that holds the projector and high beam
If you want to just replace the bulbs they come out the bottom of the housing VIA the rubber stoppers.
Hope this helps
