how do i fix paint chips...

As the title says, Everyone has paint chips in their cobalt. I have a few on the front bumper from rocks and whatnot, one on my driver fender from my buddys door, and one on my trunk from swapping spoiler and screw slid across in a small spot.

Now I used touch up paint, and put on more than necessary so the surface of the chip is sort of raised with the touchup paint. Whats the best way to smooth it out so it looks flush. Im scared to wetsand and dont know much about detailing and buffing and ****.

Any help would be appreciated for I know I am not the only one with this problem

If you don't know much about autobody or automotive painting i don't reccomend messin with it, But you could take some 200 grit paper on a small block and wetsand them down and buff them. Their is no real way to do it without repainting the complete panals

If you find a real good painter like the one i have they can blend in the paint without having to paint the entire panel which ends up saving lots of money. My ex took my car one night and her friend backed into it and scrapped the paint off my bumper. I took it to one place and they said 400 cuz they had to paint the entire thing. One of my friend told me about this other guy and i asked him and he said 200 and he now sponsors my car club and only charges 100 per panel for paint touch-ups or blending is usually 1/2 of that.

For a close touchup job, you'll need to build it up with touchup paint, then add touchup clear as the final coat. You will need to wetsand with a very high grit paper (2000-3000 grit) and then buff it out with a good buffer.

Might have to try that

All I can say is that I have seen some friends vehicles who have used it and it does work. It gets rid of the Blob and leaves the paint in the chip. I have not personally used it YET but intend on ordering it at some point.

Langka is OK and thats it. It works great but it seems like when I buff my car the paint comes right out. It does do a good job of filling I just wish it actually stayed...maybe im doing something wrong

As far as I'm concerned, it is another junk product. There is a reason why body shops still do it the correct way (IE: fill in, wetsand, buff).
