how to stop paint from chipping?
since we all know how great GM paint is! is there any way to stop it from chipping if it has already started....? it is on my g5, under the grill insert, there is just one or two little specs of paint that are starting to chip off the bumper. not very noticable but I know they are there lol
thanks!
thanks!
you mean like rock chips? really nothing you can do unless you get your bumper wrapped. Thats my plans for mine. but i hate the way touchup looks, always looks more noticable to me
take some 1000 gritt sand paper and sand those spots, then wipe it down and hit it with some clear coat from a rattle can, that should do the trick and since you cant see it it wont mater what it looks like
^ok sorry ill describe it clearer this time
so you know the line between the bumper and the g5 grill peice. the paint is chipping there and chipping down the bumper to where I can see it.
its werid cause my car has a 100% clean CarFax but the front bumper and driver side fender have been painted, and they did not take things off when they painted, just taped off... it sucks,
thanks guys

you could just have the whole bumper repainted that would solve the problem, do you still have warrenty? if so take it back and tell them to fix it, if not then you are gonna have to take the grill off and sand that area down very lightly trying not to chip anymore paint off then take it to a painter and either have them spot paint it or "burn" it in, a good painter can spot paint the area and clear it, then wet sand and buff it and you will never know the differance

yea, the bumper was repainted, im not sure if it was at my dealers shop or before it came to my dealer. but it just sucks noticing this on a car I have had for less than a month. I'm also pissed cause I spent a good hour going over the surface of the car. dont know how I missed it lol
