I painted my covers!

I just put in 1 step colder plugs, so while I have the coil cover off, I thought I'd paint it. If I'm going to do that, I should paint the fuel rail cover too, right (I like to paint stuff. See sportster in vBGarage)? It looks a little orange in the picks, but I think that's the metal flake and the bright sun. So what do you guys think? I'll probably do more under there later...

I got them at Pep Boys. They're nylon braided. I think I saw them in red and blue. They actually go on really easily. They come with clear heat shrink tuging that sucks, though, so I taped the ends until I get some decent heat shrink. The kit was like $20 or something.

the different red really sets those parts apart nice something different for a change. What kind of paint did you use?

It's from duplicolor. It's supposed to look anodized. It doesn't, but it still looks nice. I was trying to find something that kinda matched my car (I have the sprot red tintcoat, or whatever it is called) that could handle the heat under the hood. This was the closest I could find that is "heat resistant". It's sort of a candy, so if you're using it on top of a non shiny surface, you need to use the metalic base coat. You also need to use a paint adhesion promoter if covering plastic (like the fuel rail cover).

Thanks.

So here's what I'm thinking. Pull the valve cover, supercharger and motor mounts and polish them. Paint the the supercharger snout, Ingals brackets and purhaps the throttlebody. Not sure yet if I want to paint the top part of the fuse box, or make asheetmetal cover for it and paint that. Then I need to find some polished or chrome caps for my fluids (oil, radiator, etc) that don't cost $50 a pop. I like a nice looking engine bay. It's what makes people saw "wow" when you pop the hood.

Now that I think about it, a couple of well place red LED's that come on when you pop the hood would be pretty cool too...

Oh yea, and a red AEM intake to replace my "airbox mod".
