Official Plasti Dip Thread?
"You have a cobalt with orange rims.. Why would I take your opinion on cars" is my hall of fame comment
this.
I got hate for my color choice (see signature).... quite a few compliments in person too.. but either way, it's my car.
I could go on for hours about stupidity of stanced/slammed cars and stretched tires, function over form, if you can call it that, but it's their car, and that's what they want to do with it. And my opinion or their opinion is just that: personal opinion.
I believe if I don't have anything positive to say about someones ride - I won't say anything at all.

quick question
I want to dip my whole car.
my car's currently silver.
I want to make it all black, with the color not being a matte finish
would the black followed by a glossifier coat make it seem more like an actual car paint?
I sort of like the matte finish but would like it to shine a bit
do i need a base coat like grey or something before the black?
thanks

Tried using plastidip for the first time ever. Had some wheels that were pretty curb rashed up I bought from another member here. Sanded the damage down the best I could, bought some snow tires, and then painted them black.
Took my time and taped off everything I didn't want painted. Learned real quick that you have to remove the tape wet. Center caps were done separately. 5 coats on the front and 2-3 coats on the rear/barrel.

You could try silver metallizer over black (glossifier with metal flake in it). Otherwise good ol' glossifier will work.
The beauty of plasti dip is that you can do it in stages. Do your whole car matte black. Drive around like that for a while see if you like it. If it grows on you - cool. If not - order a gallon of glossifier or metalizer, wash the car, and spray it over.. Plasti dip will adhere to the previous coat without any issues. Make sure the car is dry though. Dip doesn't like wet surfaces.
Hate to admit it but have once again found a love for plastidip lol
