Sort of, just make sure you do light even coats so it doesn't get the blotchy look.. Mine was like that but I ended up taking mine off

You'll probably want 3 cans just to be safe. I Usually go through 4 when doing my wheels but that doing all the spokes as well. 3 should be just fine.

So o bought a couple cans of black plastidip and was going to try it for myself. So I taped off and did a wheel off my car and liked the look except I taped it off wrong so I peeled it off no problem and it was fine. Well the other day I bought a couple more cans and decided to do.my hood for ***** and giggles. Well part way through painting the one can got clogged and spit blobs of plastidip in one spot that looked like ass, by the way I can't seem to get these cans to spray an even pattern to save my life. So yeah back on track I bought another can and went over it and had tiger striping of flat flat and semi gloss all over my hood. So I let it all dry and peeled it off only to notice the plastidip left gray specks all over my hood that you could feel when you ran you hand over the hood. I couldn't get it off withiugh had abrasion with a scrubber sponge like you wash dishes wih and that left horrible swirls all over!!! So not my hood looks like a 5 year old went after it with a scouring pad. Anyone else have an issue with plastidip leaving specks on their paint?

Not that I know of. If you're going to do your new wheels with it though I would definitely say go for it!!

Yeah, the dipyourcar gallon is a little different purple than the blaze purple in the spray can. I think the blaze purple would be perfect for your wheels.

You can always do a base coat of white/black/gray to change the color of the purple to match better too.

Hers mine when I did it in '09. Wasnt the first but had it done before it seemed like everyone started using plastidip. Thinking about doing it again or just actually painting the rims.

Sup fellas! I did bowtie bar on my front grill 2 years ago, and I'm planning on doing it again this spring. I have a few chips in the plastic dip grumble.

What are you guys using on it after you wash it to get a nice shine? Mine gets some water spots, I love the matte color but I can never get it to look "new" again, I usually get streaks in it too if I put anything greasy on it to shine. Any products you guys recommend?

One thing I learned: tire shine is a bad choice haha

Also, any tips you guys have with removing the tape after spraying? I remember in order to get a striaght edge when I did my grill bar I used a utility blade to get a nice edge. Any other ways recommended?
