I resemble that remark.(middle-aged). I have seen quite a few "base" cobalts, and most are driven by chicks, not middle aged men like myself!

neons are debateable...i thought i would never put them on my car...until i started showing cars

if you plan on showing then do it but otherwise it just doesn't make sense unless you can't live without them

If you do get neons, make sure you cannot see the bulbs at all. "That looks ghey!" comes to mind when you can see the bulbs. Also, don't drive with them on 24/7. I had them on my z24 for only when I was parked, and at that I didn't put them on much. It did look nice and clean however the way I did mine. To each his own on this subject.

You should do whatever you want, it's your car. Personally I wouldn't do them and instead invest the money into something more useful.

Dude. Don't worry about being called a ricer. Who cares. I have neons under my arrival blue ss/sc and they are blue by street glow. They give off a great glow and are made with good material. It is funny how everyone says they hate neons but I have yet to be one place with them on where I haven't received compliments. I have had them on for 3 months now so if people hated them so badly Im sure I would of heard it from now. If you like them like I do buy them. They give your car a great look at night. Just make sure you install a toggle switch so you can turn them off promptly. I put my switch in the little tray where the trunk release is. This way no one can see the button. I say go for it. Especially since the girls really seem to like them. Who cares if another dude likes it. When I stop at a light and flash them the females always give me a smile. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR CAR !!!!!!!

I ended up getting a really good deal for the Streetglow led multicolor kit, and I don't regret it at all. I think it looks really nice. The other day at work someone was looking at my car and said "You know what would look really sharp on that car, those lights under it". I drove it over, and turned them on, and she thought it was the coolest thing.

I was going to wait until I had a lot more going on under the hood, but like I said, it was a great deal.

Like others have said. Its your car. Do your own thing with it. It sure would be boring if everyone's Cobalt was exatly the same.

I guess that would make me a 1%er. It's your car, NoLeaf, do what thou wilt. Just stay away from blue or red. Make sure that the tubes themselves can't be seen from the outside, only the glow. If they can see your tubes, expect to get pulled.

Legal Disclaimer

Check your local regulations pertaining to neon or other lighting. Talk to your local law enforcement types. They won't bite, honest. Well, maybe the k9 units. If neon lighting is expressly forbidden by law where you live, you are being governed by purityranical busybodies who can't think of anything better to do than to issue nonsensical totalitarian enactments on a whim.
