Paint idea!!

I wanted to get any thoughts from you guys out there with the balts! I got an 05 in july and love it!! The only thing is, I am the type that likes to have a car that doesn't look like everyone elses. Right now it is black with the red stripes. My thoughts were to take it and make the car hot rod black or mat black and after painting it pull the stripes off to have the stripes be the gloss black.
Just wanted to get yalls thats on how you guys would think of that!!
Thanks guys and girls!!

why dont u do gloss black with matte black stripes. it would be more subtle and matte black on a car is VERY hard to paint

I've got a guy that does rat rods as a main base of business and he said it may be alittle expensive but the whole care from previous owner needs to be painted. I like different. Plus the stripes are already there so no extra thinking is needed!!

I say do it...as long as ur painter can do for for it.... if u don't mind me askin how long have the stripes been on??? I had some on for I think about 3 years and its kinda suck takein the off... it might be kinda hard to take them off and keep a fine edge on the matte... just some food for thought....

I beileve they have been on there since new in 05. Where they go all the way down the back bumper they are starting to crack and peel but they have a wheel that you put on a drill and it has little erasers on them and they peel right off and you give it a good buffing and it they come off nice!

I would say as to save money, get a vinyl wrap instead, it would probably be a lot cheaper. You would do a base vinyl wrap in matte black, then have gloss black stripes cut and lay them over top, that way it's easily reversible too, and when you get sick of the matte black, you can just peel it off.

No one else really likes matte black, but I honestly think it looks sick on cobalts! I was planning on painting mine that color in the future. Do it
