Painted my supercharger

Painted my supercharger last week, went with black and blue, same colour scheme as my interior, thought I'd share the pics:
Just after I got it out:

Done with the black:

Taped off in prep for blue:

I was pretty much in tears at this point, pulled the tape off and realized it pooled underneath:

Had an idea to save it:

Tape off and all ready to put back together:

Around midnight after I got it all back together

Next day

Valve cover is going to be next. Was a lot of fun, and i really like the way it turned out. It ended up taking me 3 days after pulling it out, cleaning it, waiting for coats to dry and work, but if i had just done it on a day off I could have done it in 1 day easy.

def good job i feel thats an understatement actually. bannngin job and quick idea to save the error. what kind of paint did you use also how many coats? will this make you get heat soaked more quickly or do you have an h/e already set up so it doesnt matter

Looks nice, im also interested in what type of paint you used. Also interested in the long term durability.

A baby blue supercharger would look good. I saw one in a mm&ff magazine that had one and it was sex.

Valve cover will be next time I have some time off, i had to mooch rides off everyone I could over the 3 days I had it apart which sucked.
I just used duplicolor engine enamel with some chip and heat resistant clear coat over top, 3 coats of each color, sprayed some paint on a q-tip to touch up. Cant say anything on long term, its only been on a week or so, so time will tell that one, I'm hoping the chip resistant clear coat will do something to protect it.
I went with black cuz my whole car is black, black halos, blacked tail lights, so I went with the rest of my car kinda boring i know, but i think it would have looked weird to see a black car then i bright splash of colour as soon as the hood poped.
Pretty much no performance mods atm other than intake (rice i know) but I've got plans for over the winter when its easier for me to get time off, ill be dropping down to a 2.9in pulley with basically all the supporting mods I need. Haven't noticed getting heat soaked earlier, but I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention
