painting over decals..?
Hey guys,
So, I had this idea to paint something.. I'm gonna do it on my intake I guess since I'm getting my valve cover powder coated and he said you couldn't do this with powder.. Regardless, what I wanna do is paint the surface said color.. Then apply a decal to it.. Then paint over the decal with another color.. Allow to dry.. Then remove the decal so the decal is still on there, but in the first color.. Is there some proper way to do this? Or is it basically exactly as I described?
Thanks!

basically heres what i do hwen i do this type of stuff. i prep the part, then lay down the main color of whatever the color you want the part to be. i went allow it to dry completely. i then will use my decal for an outline and use tape or i paper(i forget the name of it) and make my design like an outline. i then cover up all the parts i dont want to the 2nd color and lay the 2nd color down. allow it to dry and peel the tape off. if i clear it then i clear it.
