Really cool Idea, new help

Okay so I really want underglow neons, and I thought of the best idea. Is it possible to hook them up to my interior dome lights? So that when I unlock my car the neons come on and when I open my door the neons come on, or when I slide the switch I can have them perm off or perm on? Would that be possible?

I only ask because its illegal in NJ and i really dont want to drive around with them on, so I think it would be cool to just have parked and whenever

I would think it would be possible but you would have to find d where the module for the keyless entry is located. All the hookups for the interior lights and headlamps would be found in this one central location and you would have to wire them into this module. For that you may need a wiring diagram to see exactly how it works. Once you find where you find this out you will also need to find a constant 12V feed. Now for the switch you, i think you will need a Double Pole Double Throw switch also known as a DPDT but not possitive. The kind of switch would have 3 positions and about 6 terminals. 2 terminals for each possition. One connection would be connected to the keyless, one for the constant, and one that would just be grounds for off.

Couldnt I just tap into the power for the dome lights? And the BCM would turn power on and off on those lines as needed

just make a seperate line with its own fuse, that is the only way i would do it. however i am electrical retarded, so my way would indeed be the simplest.

Most undercar kits come with a switch so you can turn them on or off whenever you want to and doing it this way would save you alot of work.

yes it can be done, my friend has it set up to a 12 volt connection in his car so he can turn it on whenever he wants.

it would be a bitch to get power for a relay from the dome... because, you'd have to tap it up high since that's where the light is... could be done, but would be a bitch, lol.
