retros painting

I have been thinking about building a set of retros for a while and i don't like the shiny shrouds. Has anyone seen a set made with everything painted black and the shrouds black. Maybe with a halo infront or behind the shroud? Also what paint should I use flat or shiny black? Up in the air. I know that I want the all black but up in the air on everything else lol.

Maybe some pictures thanks

Tom

I say flat black.. gloss black's ok w/ a blk car, but Personally, I like the way the stock lights break up the black a lil.. My retros look blk from far away and gunmetalish up close

yeah i dunno. I would mind keeping maybe a small gray or silver outline around the painted area inside the lights like the ones Maven made but I like the whole complete dark look but you are right it would look good with gun metal also or even a dark gray.

Dupli-Color :: Shadow

I used that stuff, they have it at Autozone an other places like that..
How dark, or light it is depends on how you do it. I did a couple random things first to see how it would come out.. Whenever I get around to redoin my lights, Ima use it again

Well here's an idea, get different shrouds. The mini gatlings are not your only choice. I've got E46 extended shrouds, all black. I think they're the best looking shrouds for our car.

Sorry I don't have any up close pics, been too lazy to take them
