sounds like clay bar is the solution to me. it sounds like its just road grime

from best i can tell "simonizing" is a creative way to get you out of a nice chunk of change. it was a top of the line waxing process in the 50's and 60's and they still pwn newbs today with it

UPDATE

okay. so I got back from the dealership today and they tried to tell me it was "hard water" which is normal water, it has calcium and other crap in it which makes it do this. They have "soft water" at the dealership which they use to wash cars.

Final line is, they took it in and waxed it. Its good for right now, Ill update if they come back.

Although I dont think its from having water on my hood, thats what they told me.
There wasnt even any water on it for it to happen.

BTW, "hard water" might be a local car was near you so watch it.

LMFAO, soft water.

you get this **** not from "hard water," but from letting water dry on the car most the time. our water in cabot is "notorious" for being hard water, but it always comes from people letting rain after rain dry on their car. maybe it rains hard water here and just misses my car everytime....

speaking of this, i detailed a brand new z4 today that had "hard water" on it and some black **** you described. its all gone now and will post the pics later. way worse than a new car should have been. check under detailing later.

On my car too. I think claybarring would solve the trick though.

So soft water is from a water softener or what? Meaning it's got calcium chlorate (or whatever they use in those water softener pellets) in it? Yeah I'm pretty sure NO car wash has that soft water...and no dealer to boot.

let me clarify, there is "soft water" and "hard water" but planning on soft water only touching a DD car is like planning on never jerking off agian. its not going to happen. take steps to keep water spots off cars-

1) keep a good coat of wax on the car
2) wax it when it needs to be waxed
3) try your damned hardest to not let water dry on the car ESPECIALLY IN THE SUN
