on my 09 with 61k miles...
the clearcoat/paint is cracking and peeling... what is chevrolets paint warranty? there is no reason whatsoever that my paint should be cracking and peeling.

 

What paint warranty? It covers factory defects, plus I think it ends at 36,000 miles with the bumper-to-bumper coverage. Where is it cracking and peeling?

 

Paints good on mine except the hood, in which it looks like someone took a shotgun to it. Damn rock chips!

 

I had the same problem. Installed carbon fiber hood. Problem solved.

 

86k miles and shines like a ****...gotta love mothers brand wax. Hehe

 

spoiler and trunk its cracking/spiderwebbing... the manual says 5yr warranty on it.

 

My roof looks like its starting to be ate by the sun and the clear coat is fading

 

I have a black 05 is it still looks perfect. So I don't know what to tell ya

 

there is no paint warenty, only warenty they have that had anything to do with paint is a corrosion warrenty, but thats only for perforation

 

this is some warrenty of the paint for clear peeling and cracking and such. hondas have this problem a lot its called checking. its where the sealer underneath the clear and base starts to lift....unfortunately the paint on the cobalt i think on my 09 was only warrentied for the first 12000 miles. i have not had any issues though. anything ever been repainted?

 

Did you wash the car with dishsoap? This would kill the paint. Use car wash soap and wax the car every 6 months to a year.

the front bumper and drivers fender has been painted...
to the dishsoap comment, all the bodyshops i have worked at used dishsoap and we never had a problem. this looks like too much hardner was used and it shrunk the paint... looks like if gm wont warranty it im going with a highrise. and getting the trunk painted with the rear bumper...

 

they re-painted half my car after i got it, about 2 fish eyes on each pannel.....but it looks mint now

 

my 05 is **** on the roof. i could literally peel the entire clear coat off starting from the top.

 

I'd ask how often is it sitting out in the sun? Did you keep it waxed? Also what color is it? I've heard black is the worst. Mine sits out in the sun year round and it is about 2 years old. So far it is still perfect. I try to wax it twice a year.

 

its black, hence the username. i dont have a garage yet... its in the works.

i will take it to the dealer on tuesday to get it checked out and see what they say, as well as have the recall done on the ps motor. and drop the bumper, and side skirts off at the bodyshop to get painted.

 

you should go to home-depot buy like 20 or so cans of plastidip and plastidip the whole car

 

I wax mine way too much...

i wax mine about the beginning of spring and end of summer. i noticed this on the back when i was doing the exhaust and going to wash it.
