Alright since i got my SS i have wanted to make all the lamps in the back work as brake lights, but i couldnt think of the easiest way to do it. Then today i was thinking... i wonder if an IS300 middle lenses will swap with ours? if i could do that then all i would have to do would be splice the brake wires into the trunk lenses, and wala corvette style lighting! you guys gotta any info or comments?

i was thinking of putting LEDs in the red part and then hooking them up to the brake lights

that way the reverse light wouldn't have to go

 

They won't fit the IS light is about an inch too small.

If you want all red you could just cherry out the reverse light

 

hey man they wont fit...they are too little I used is300 tail lights in my beretta and they are like 2.75 inchs wide

^^lol, i think the only way to do them is to put LED's in the circle around the reverse light....to me it looks good, b.c from a distance there is rings around the lights, almost like reflectors (like the skyline)....and at night when a light shines on them just right, its looks sweet.....

 

This is definitely my first planned mod (at least lining the circumference of the backup lights with LEDs or somesuch; I'm not sure if I'd like them on the outer taillights yet). I've wanted to do it ever since I saw my first cobalt. It's very easy... I'll post a how-to when I actually get around to doing this (unless someone beats me to it).
